not a die cut.... emboss only

embossed leaves socks in Koigu sock yarn - my second pair. Pattern from Interweave Knits Winter 05

Using Eucalyptus ink to inked up the embossing folder and do a letterpress technique. Added a stamped die cut circle sentiment.

So this was fun to make. The leather is embossed and cut with a scrapbooking machine and then burnt with a candle flame to curl up the edges. In case anyone wonders... leather smells really bad when in burns!

i got "favorite socks" for christmas from my brother and started the embossed leaves socks yesterday. yay, i always wanted to knit these!

colored ship....the angel is c104 Angel Face Postage Stamp 1995. I embossed by ironing velvet paper...shows up better in real life. Not sure but I think the ship is from an older Hero Arts set.

I love these small decorations because they can make great gift toppers as well as tree or branches or wreath decorations.

Made with my absolutely new square molds and embossing stamps. This bar was the second try: shea butter soap, copper mica, brown oxide, and honey toffee fragrance oil. This stamp might be my favorite.

Embossed leaves socks are apparently in the top 5 of most knitted socks on Ravelry, and now that I've started a pair, I can see why. I know I keep saying that lace and socks just don't make sense (if it's cold enough to wear socks, it's cold enough that you don't want holes in them) but I love knitting lace, and when I finally wound up the skein of Malabrigo Sock I got from my SIL Julie, I really wanted to do something special with it.
