2013 Modern Tucson tour of a hidden gem by Paolo Soleri. It is a small chapel inside the first floor of the Cancer Center at the University of Arizona Medical Center. The doors, ceiling, back wall, and bells are ALL Paolo. The Soleri Chapel is a modern masterpiece, often overlooked as a part of the Soleri canon - the location is often misattributed and misrepresented as demolished in publicans of his work. The ceiling is formed by prototypical cast-in-place barrel-vaults. Cast in a bed of silt, the concrete has a unique texture and color that expresses the natural environment. This quality is emphasized by the embedded botanical graphics, a technique employed throughout Acrosanti. The chapel also features a stunning, multiple hand-cast bronze bell system, and stained glass.

This tree's growth has brought it right next to a barbed-wire fence, with a small "cave" to allow for the barb itself but with the wire cutting a line right across the trunk. Subsequent photos give a wider view.

For this technique I gathered objects such as coins and wire and stuck them onto a plain piece of A4 paper with PVA glue. Then layering a piece of foil over the top pressing down and scrunching up in places to make it textured. After selecting my a coloured ink i washed over the foil.

Researchers found more than 6,500 fossils embedded in shale from Germany's Messel Pit, including an ancient ungulate, or hoofed mammal, called Kopidodon macrognathus, whose skull is seen above. Researchers think this animal was a young male, based on its bony head crest and still-developing teeth in its upper jaw.

Shooting VS Shooting documentary by Nikos Megrelis, 2011, 75' & 52'

‘In a war, truth is always the first victim. ‘ Greek philosopher Aeschylus wrote, many centuries back and until today, his quote stands.

‘Shooting vs Shooting’ is an international documentary that revolves around the wrongful deaths of many journalists and media workers in Iraq from the beginning of the war in 2003 till nowdays.

It reveals unknown sides to the facts, the responsibilities of governments, the atrocities committed by fanatic islamic factions, while simultaneously displaying unique examples of courage, altruism and humanity that stood out amidst the horrors of war.

I love unexpected inspiration.

This photo was taken in an abandoned hotel of a wall that had its wallpaper torn off.

The lines are very interesting. This was one of my favorite shots of the day.
