Part of the North British Railway line that ran from Riccarton Junction to Bellingham and that was closed in 1958.
Although relatively dry now - this is where the flooding turned serious. The water in Fishlake Meadows eventually rose and breached Fishlake stream. This blocked the flow in the stream and it overflowed down this embankment. eventullay the flow started to erode the earth embankment - at which point emergency measures were put in force at several points upstream and in Romsey town.

This section of embankment is where the railway would have just left the (still existing) Canterbury West mainline.
With Dolphins
The lamp posts were designed by George John Vulliamy and modelled by Charles Henry Driver architect of the Victoria Embankment wall and river stairs. They were based on statues of dolphins or fish with intertwined tails at the Fontana del Nettuno in the Piazza del Popolo in Rome, which was constructed in 1822–23.
With flowers all over his body here is Embankment Wenlock in the Embankment Gardens which were full of daisies and cannas in full bloom. Number 7 on the Pink Trail.

This bus was withdrawn by LT in Apr 2005 and sold to Henry Cooper Coaches, Cramlington, In Dec 2005 bought by Mr R.Wakelin, Saltaire Travel, Baildon, West Yorkshire, in May 2008 bought by David Palmer Coaches, Normanton and in Apr 2015 it was bought by BB Afternoon Tea Tours.
I wanted to create a battle scene in the woods by taking multiple photos of myself assuming multiple stances, then cropping them together.
It was an ambitious project, and it would have worked had water not gotten on my lens and screwed everything up. I might try it next time if I have better weather.
