After joining TW , the MacBookPro has become my primary dev machine (
including my open source work which is mainly KDE ). I end up using OS X
Leopard most of the time and I love it.
Qt4 is widely used GUI
library. KDE is built on top of Qt4. Many well-known GUI applications such
as Google Earth, Google Talk, Picassa, Skype are all Qt applications.
CMake is a cross-platform
make system. It is used by many big open source projects such as KDE4 and VTK
Using Qt4 you can write rich GUI applications in C++ and in Java ( using Jambi
). Qt4 supports Windows, Linux, OSX , BSD and Solaris.
You can get Qt4 for Mac from here
XCode is the default IDE on OSX.
So I decided to find out a way to use
- CMake as my build system
- Qt4 as my GUI library ( IMO its the best GUI library out there )
- XCode as my IDE
And here's how you do it.
Download CMake from here
Create a folder; let's call it HelloWorld
Create a file called main.cpp in that folder.
Let's write a simple Hello World in Qt4

We tried boiling water, water, and mineral spirits but a heat gun and plastic scraper works best.
Mineral spirits is a good follow up after scraping, it gets rid of some residue and general stickiness.
After the glue is stripped and the floors are washed with mineral spirits we will be renting a sander and taking about an 1/8th inch off the floors before refinishing.
These were taken on Mt. View Rd. in the Hayden-Corner area looking
north-northeast. Just got internet back and thought you would enjoy these. Good

Setup is 2 umbrellas, 1 on camera left and one on camera right, both with sb-800's firing through them. Also, there is a softbox on the floor with an sb-600 firing through it to put more light on her legs.

I got an e-mail from my service provider, Virgin, saying that it had been improved. However, every time they needed to use an apostrophe in the text it came out as â?T which rather makes one wonder how good they are !
Here's their reply. Possibly it makes sense to you :-)
Thanks for getting in touch with the Virgin Media Support team.
The errors on the email where apostrophes are supposed to be is caused by the way your email client parses the email. Because it is a HTML email different clients will read the code differently and so will display incorrect characters.
I apologise for this.

I've just received this email from Adobe. Given that thay are marketing themselves as innovative and creative this mail made me laugh. The stock photo particularly. A contrived scene, a good ethnic mix and an ancient i-book. And what's the head honcho saying? "Will someone show me how to use this phone?"
Very revolutionary.
