The state became worth over $1 billion in 2017, after Venezuelan authorities claimed the area, dubbed “the Orinoco Mining Arc”, to possess reserves of uranium and some of the largest untapped gold and coltan reserves in the world. Recovered first stage booster from SpaceX’s Iridium-2 launch on June 25, 2017. This was the first Falcon 9 launch using the vastly improved titanium grid fins, which will no longer burn up during atmospheric re-entry.

A SpaceX Falcon 9 lifts off from Cape Canaveral Launch Complex 40 carrying ABS 3A & Eutelsat 115 West B satellites.
Remote/pad camera setup was scheduled very early this (Thursday, June 1) morning. When we arrived at the LC-39A, the #SpaceX #CRS11 #Falcon9 was still horizontal (I was going to try to weave in a "laying down on the job" or "still sleeping" joke here). Although not preferred for framing the remote shot, the horizontal rocket did allow for a cool photo angle.
This is a merge (a panorama, technically) of 3 tight shots of the rocket and payload, a "flight proven" Dragon capsule that was originally flown on the CRS-4 mission. You can see people working on the rocket (or maybe the payload), providing some scale, and also the view of the base (including the clamps that hold the rocket in place) is quite amazing.
And to tie the shot together, there are porta-potties in the foreground.

Beautiful morning launch with the latest batch of 60 Starlink broadband internet relay satellites at 8:25 EDT - viewed from Playalinda Beach
Not the "normal" #SpaceX #Falcon9 booster return to Port Canaveral. After launching the #CRS16 resupply mission to the ISS on December 5th, the B1050 booster suffered a hydraulic pump failure for the grid fins & caused the computer to make a controlled landing in the ocean off the coast of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The black interstage looks severely damaged & corrosion would be a risk for reuse, after soaking in salt water for more than 48 hours.

A look through the open hatch of the Dragon V2 reveals the layout and interior of the seven-crew capacity spacecraft. SpaceX unveiled the new spacecraft during a ceremony at its headquarters in Hawthorne, Calif. The Dragon V2 is designed to carry people into Earth's orbit and was developed in partnership with NASA's Commercial Crew Program under the Commercial Crew Integrated Capability agreement. SpaceX is one of NASA's commercial partners working to develop a new generation of U.S. spacecraft and rockets capable of transporting humans to and from Earth's orbit from American soil. SpaceX launched the Japanese ispace Hakuto-R Mission 1 robotic moon lander, and NASA's micro-satellite called Lunar Flashlight to look for signs of water ice hidden in the permanently dark crater floors of the moon's poles. SpaceX launch with Telstar 18V from SLC-40 on the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, at 12:45 am (ET) Monday morning, with support from the 45th Space Wing at Patrick Air Force Base
SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket launched the STP-2 mission at 2:30 am from LC-39A on the Kennedy Space Center. The two side boosters returned to land at LZ-1 & LZ-2 on the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, creating the two side-by-side landing streaks. Had to play hide and seek from the bright lights of the dredge in the shipping channel at Port Canaveral, but the lifeguard tower was up to the challenge.
