At 1:16pm (ET) today (Wednesday, December 5, 2018) #SpaceX successfully launched and (quasi-) landed a shiny-new #BlockV #Falcon9 rocket, the #CRS16 mission carrying supplies (including non-moldy mouse food) to the International Space Station.

Hands Off! Protest in Vero Beach, Florida on April 5, 2025. A large crowd of over 2000 showed up to protest Trump and Elon Musk policies and the havoc caused by DOGE. This was one of 1200 locations where people raised their voices across the nation with more than 5 million participating. Resist!

Not the "normal" #SpaceX #Falcon9 booster return to Port Canaveral. After launching the #CRS16 resupply mission to the ISS on December 5th, the B1050 booster suffered a hydraulic pump failure for the grid fins & caused the computer to make a controlled landing in the ocean off the coast of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The black interstage looks severely damaged & corrosion would be a risk for reuse, after soaking in salt water for more than 48 hours.

SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched the second COSMO-SkyMed Second Generation (CSG-2) radar surveillance satellite for the Italian Space Agency, ASI at 6:11 p.m. EST Monday evening

Venezuela´s Sheyene Gerardi inherited the mining estate from her parents in the Orinoco belt region in Venezuela. The state became worth over $1 billion in 2017, after Venezuelan authorities claimed the area, dubbed “the Orinoco Mining Arc”, to possess reserves of uranium and some of the largest untapped gold and coltan reserves in the world. The company, through its subsidiary, is also developing automated mining technologies. Her businesses also include projects and activities with NASA.

Just 5 minutes ago... But Falcon1 went into Terminal Count Abort 0.5 seconds after ignition. Email from the team relayed that pressure for the main chamber was 0.2% under the abort limit.

 

There was a lot of water on the pad, and cursing that I don't think they intended to mixed into the audio link... I can only imagine the intensity of the emotions at times like this.

SpaceX launched the Transporter-3 rideshare mission to a sun-synchronous orbit with 105 small microsatellites and nanosatellites for commercial and government customers Thurday morning at 10:25 a.m. EST. The first stage booster B1058-10 completed its' 10th flight with a RTLS landing at LZ-1 on the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station
