Electric car-buyers spark bonanza sale with TESLA, the US electric car company, which has already collected ca. $300m in deposits for its hotly-anticipated Model 3 car. The car will be released next year, with deliveries expected to take place in autumn or winter.

Last year Tesla delivered just over 50,000 vehicles, and now the demand is so high that its' CEO Elon Musk hopes to manufacture around 500,000 vehicles a year once production is at full capacity.

The basic model will start at $35,000 (£24,500) and has a minimum range of 215 miles (346km) on a single charge.

Hands Off! Protest in Vero Beach, Florida on April 5, 2025. A large crowd of over 2000 showed up to protest Trump and Elon Musk policies and the havoc caused by DOGE. This was one of 1200 locations where people raised their voices across the nation with more than 5 million participating. Resist!

A rare view - never seen a rocket go vertical like this on the pad. This represents one of the final stages of preparation a rocket goes through, before firing away into space

There's nothing like it on the road. Driving through the small town of Claremont, Southern California, the Cybertruck attracts quite a bit of attention. It frightens little children--and me! It looks a lot better from the front: www.flickr.com/photos/russloar/53887756995

I gave Elon Musk the golden Frisbee award this evening. The one on the left is for Tesla; the one on the right is the hall of fame, a permanent installation in our lobby.

Elon is the most polymathic entrepreneur I know.
