The Elizabeth River rises below Lake Leake and flows generally west by north through the traditional lands of the Peenrymairmemener and Tyrrernotepanner Clans of the North Midlands Nation.[3] The palawa kani name for the river is pantukina layapinta,[4] the prefix pantukina referring to the country around modern day Campbell Town.[5] The river reaches its confluence with the Macquarie River west of Campbell Town.[6] The river was originally known by colonials in the first decade of the 19th century as Relief Creek, but was renamed by Governor Macquarie, for his wife, when he passed through in 1811.[7][8] The river descends 410 metres (1,350 ft) over its 60-kilometre (37 mi) course.[1] Wikipedia

Castle in Jersey, UK. The last I heard there was loads of debate about opening the place up to the public (which they should - we arrived and found great big wooden doors barring our way in) but, as often seems to be the case, no-one seems to agree on the best way to do it.
It's a really nice castle that becomes surrounded by water as the tide comes in, so, unless you want to get a boat, you have to walk out at low tide.
The Queen's coffin will lie in the Throne Room at the royal Scottish residence until September 13 before transfer to London.

Crossing Swan River by ferry from Mill Point we arrive at Elizabeth Quay. The epicentre of quaint cafes, restaurants, and magnificent structures like the Bell Tower, modern white metal sculptures and this oddly constructed pedestrian crossing. JoAnne said to me this morning, I guess there's nothing more to see in Perth, that was a challenge I could not resist.

Definitely not "Big Ben" as my youngest daughter is fond of reminding me... Parliament Square, Westminster, London.
I won 10 skeins of Elizabeth Austen "Andes" in Camel-Limestone.
It's a worsted weight 100% wool kettle-dyed yarn . . . now I just have to figure out what to knit with it.
The Queen Elizabeth Ranges is a group of mountain ranges in the Canadian Rockies on the southeastern side of Jasper National Park, Canada. The northern end of the ranges begins east of Medicine Lake and extends in a southeasterly direction past the southern shore of Maligne Lake. The group was named in 1953 to celebrate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II as Canada's sovereign.
These ranges include the following mountains and peaks seen here: Mt. Charlton (3217m ) and Mt. Unwin (3268m )
6201 Princess Elizabeth and support coach at Hellifield Station waiting on the arrival of the excursion from Norwich. 6201 would replace the front diesel on its arrival and head up to Carlisle. Thought I'd post a couple of extra shots from last weekend to see if Flickr is as fixed as it is claimed :-)
While in West Brownsville we heard the CSX dispatcher talk to a loaded coal train on the east bank on the Monongahela so we made our way to Elizabeth, PA where CSX runs down First Ave. We felt lucky to catch a train on this piece of trackage as from what I understand there are not too many these days. Although it was the dreaded high sun hours I did the best could with what I had to work with.
Elizabeth Reef and 45km in the distance, Middleton Reef. Elizabeth Reef is the southernmost coral atoll in the world and one of the southernmost platform reefs in the world. It measures 8.2 km by 5.5 km.
At least half a dozen ships have wrecked on the reef over time. Wikipedia has a list: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Reef
Queen Elizabeth II has been the UK's head of state for longer than most of its citizens can remember.
For 60 years she has fulfilled the role of constitutional monarch, a figure separate from politics but always in touch with events.
The person who has embodied Britain to the wider world and been a focus for unity within the country's increasingly diverse communities.
For all of those reasons and others - not least her unflagging commitment to her role - there is perhaps a greater sense of personal regard for her than at any time since the early years of her reign back in the 1950s.

Some of the most amazing pieces I have ever seen. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity! Thank you Elizabeth!
The baby was born on a date close to the birthday of HM Queen Elizabeth 11. She has been named after the queen.

I was struck by the repetition of left-leaning elements in the photo: the candle flames, the head position, and even the sweep of the hair and where the eyes are focused--all pointing from the left to the right, against the black and white vertical stripes in the background.
