In most cases, elevation helps the shot, as you can capture the larger scene at hand, and this one is no exception. OCs MILL job departs NS at Mingo Jct headed home to Miller Station.

Clouds left from the previous night’s storm are still tangled in a mountain peak. Rain fell in the low lands, but the higher elevations received a decorative dusting of snow.
Getting back to posting some more images from this fall, but let’s head down south to the bayou. A place that I connect with every time I visit. I never expect to come home with much after my visits, but surprisingly I come back with a few keepers that I’m happy with. There’s something about gliding through the waters of the bayou that is so fascinating to me. The creepy, eerie, and stark beauty of these swamps is something special. It’s very zen like for me in many ways.
Lots of new images to share in the future!

"Elevation" by U2
is the third track and third single release from U2's 2000 album, All That You Can't Leave Behind. Featuring a thunderous beat, a variety of sound effects on the central guitar riff and an easy rhyming lyric for the audience to shout along with, it was highly effective in its concert-opening role on the Elevation Tour (named after the song) and became a hit in the United States and the United Kingdom. It was also their second #1 single in the Netherlands. In 2002, "Elevation" won "Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal".
Elk of the Canadian Rockies
Elk, also known as Wapiti or Red Deer, enjoy large populations in North America, primarily in western parts of the United States and Canada. These large relatives of deer are also found in smaller populations in other parts of the world, in protected native groups or introduced populations. Their preference for open woodlands and a range of elevations make many states habitable for elk, though their current range is much smaller than their historical range.
The Elk Range is a mountain range of the Canadian Rockies, located on the southern edge of Kananaskis on the Alberta-British Columbia border. The range was named for Elk found on the mountain slopes and in the nearby Elk River valley. Originally known as the Elk Mountains in 1917, the name was formally changed to the Elk Range in 1951.
I read a review of this building a long time ago and the reviewer had only one issue with the building. There was a staircase that you walked down to get to the restrooms and other areas of the building and at the bottom of the stair was a window that looked out over the loading dock. The view and the place and the sequence didn't really seem to fit with the rest of the building.
At the time, I thought that the reviewer was just being picky that one window was missed. Being there - I agree with the review. The window doesn't make sense. In an otherwise flawless building that is so well done. You can see the window reflection faintly in the darkness of the loading dock.
This is the south elevation of the MAM.

I'd taken Pep out for her walk in the piddling down rain! We were both soaked through when we got home..
Typically for me the rain stopped and the clouds started to break as I got home. So, I dried her off, stoked the fire for her and jumped back in the car to look for something interesting.
My first stop is always Ipstones Edge. 1200ft in elevation, the setting sun to the SW and this view to the NE with the rainbow just sat over Thorpe Cloud.
Have you ever noticed that a valley exists beneath most peaks? Maybe that is just the way it is supposed to be.

After missing out on a few years, we took a trip to see the fall colors. We had originally planned to go to New England, but the logistics seemed too challenging. Instead, we decided to visit some of our favorite spots in the Eastern Sierras. According to the fall reports from Mono County, the leaves were turning rather quickly this year. So, we made the trip a week early. We started by visiting the northern spots on our itinerary and found that the reports were accurate. We saw a lot of colors in higher elevations, including some reds, while at lower elevations, the colors were starting to turn. Fortunately, we didn't have to deal with fierce winds this time, which made it a little easier to capture some decent images. Our first venture was to Summers Meadow, which had a few outlook points for incredible fall scenes.
