A wild elephant in the jungle attacked this poor guy. The vet cleans and applies antibiotics to his wounds.
There was a mother elephant and a baby. The mother kept sticking her trunk out to get our attention when we turned away. Such is this shot.
We stopped at a lovely couples homestay in Cochin for a few days. Mr and Mrs Thomas. Mrs Thomas cooked us a full Indian Brekki every morning. Egg curry, jasmine rice and Doasa! Yum/Oink
A very early rise to go and see the elephants have a wash. These elephants live in the local sanctuary. they used to work but now just get looked after and washed with coconut shells.
A very very early rise for us to go to see some elephants being washed for the day. The elephants used to work in Cochin for royal occasions but now live in a sanctuary with their little ones.
The Elephant Nature Park was created by a thai woman called Lek back in the 90’s after she grew tired of watching the elephants dissapearing.She started out with 4 elephants that she bought from local logging companies, and found a piece of land that the elephants could live on.Check out my travelblog at

Elephants are easily seen while driving through Bandipur forest on the highway, there is no need for a 'safari'.
