Situé dans la partie montagneuse du bas-Vivarais, à 550 m d'altitude, le château de Versas est un des plus beaux fleurons du département de l'Ardèche.
Nous avons très peu d'éléments sur son histoire mais nous savons que ce château fut au moyen-âge une dépendance de la "Tour de Brison" et la demeure des seigneurs de Montbrison en temps de paix.
Le château était encore habité en 1703. Livré au pillage pendant la Révolution, il devint une exploitation agricole jusqu'en 1968.
Les nouveaux propriétaires, membres de l'association "vieilles maisons françaises, ont décidé de restaurer le château dans le respect de sa construction d'origine. La tour du château est inscrite à l'inventaire des monuments historiques.

Pied-billed Grebe surfaces as I'm trying to photograph a Snowy Egret. My settings were dialed in for the all-white Snowy and then the Grebe surfaced in the shadow. Serendipity!
Well... the first rains have fallen... the fields have all been plowed (hopefully not with this plow)... the seeds have been sown... the seedlings have germinated... and I'm very much in my element! The dull brown Durbanville landscapes of the Summer months... have once again been totally transformed!! :)
I must say that I'm very impressed... for a $700 camera... this Nikon D3100 takes some pretty awesome photos!

got to stop googling stuff about the snail ( did you know they poop thru their mouth ? ) ----but they do have two sets of antenna -- the top Antennae holds the eyespot which only detects light and dark -- the two smaller antenna are for touch and smell........( to be continued ? )
Fifth Element is one of the movies I’ll watch over and over again.
I’ve been working on this taxi from the movie for quite a long time and finished it today. Difficulty in getting the right parts (and learning a few things about some popular Bricklink sellers), a mishap that caused me to order a new set of stickers, plus this is a fragile model and has come apart more than once. But it’s done and as soon as I find the minifigs I bought to go with it…

The movie Dune seems to have sunk without much commotion, which allows them to multiply out there in the outbacks of Guadalupe.....
I love the weird flickr map they have the strangest places listed i.e. Gum, Iremel, Bragur "towns" of probably 3 people at the most in each BUT they are listed in Santa Barbara County as "populated areas"
