Leica M9 + Leica Summicron 90mm f2 (1973)
Sunlight + speedlight + lens flare from having the hood pushed in. The Cron 90f2 flares nicely without the hood.. if you like that look. Normally the hood is out so i've not eally seen it before like this.
Another photo from my Coventry 1-2-1 portrait photography workshop using a mix of daylight and speedlights.

another possibility for the macromonday theme for this week, which is inside electronics. this circuit board was from a device that strengthened sound, which didn't work all that well, so taking it apart to photograph its innards was not a bad idea.

We went to a remote place in California's Mojave desert to launch a big rocket called HARP - High Altitude Rocketry Program. My son was leading a team of San Jose State University students to build and launch the rocket. Shortly before launch he is arming the sustainer (upper stage) with help from a big machine.
I processed a balanced HDR photo from a RAW exposure, and carefully adjusted color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive feedback.

Just a resistor (0.5W - 4.7MOhm) with a 50mm lens and a 36mm extension tube (Kenko).
2 flashes - one on top and the other for the bottom side.
Setup: Taken with a 60d with 17-55mm. Lighting: Long exposure with OCF (Sigma EF-530 Super) fired manually (x6) from various positions.
The complete instrumentation cluster of the Mercedes Benz E300 BlueTEC Hybrid turbodiesel sedan. I didn't get to drive it, but being given the opportunity to sit in the car with the engine idling and air condition running was really great.
You can tell from the low tachometer redline (just above 4,000 rpm) that this car runs on diesel rather than gasoline/petrol. Gasoline powered cars generally have a much higher engine redline from starting from 6,000 rpm onwards.
This was tricky to photograph at night in near darkness and it took me half a dozen takes before getting one with the right exposure and not blurry due to camera shake.
