The Nikon F bought new in 1971 by my late uncle, with a 55mm f1.2 AI-converted lens.
My uncle was a keen amateur photographer and the Nikon F was an expensive camera... so he seldom used it. He did a lot of his work on an old Pentax and Praktica!
The more Internet connections we can make, the less "real" connections we seem to have. It seems the majority of contact with the outside world many of us seem to get these days is through the use of one of these.

WEEK 29 – Carrollton, GA, Target (II)
Panning to the left, we get a view of the sleek new electronics desk: a far cry not only from the bulky “boats” of old, but also even the more modern “Target Electronics” desks! I guess a bunch of hard edges, reflective white material, and a backlit front shelving space will do that for you… speaking of which, I actually think it’s quite clever how that space has been utilized for an all-in-one battery station, even if it does sacrifice having any true branding to help identify the desk’s purpose.
That arrowed remodel sign informs us that we will encounter the entertainment, sporting goods, toys and games, and auto and home improvement departments as we press forward toward the store’s left-side wall, and indeed we shall, as our stour continues two weeks from now. Stay tuned!

I had to sell some stuff to raise funds for this baby. I tried my best to resist it but it was kinda like resisting gravity. =P
A Minolta Freedom Tele with a Leica badge. This is not a zoom compact, it is a dual lens camera, 35 or 80 mm. The apertures are quite decent, but the camera has no Leica genes, except for the type of lettering. It is almost 25 years old and it feels it. The viewfinder is not great, although putting the traditional leds inside it is a nice touch. The noise from the motor and AF system is a bit creepy and loud.
People say that the lens is quite good, perhaps one of these days I'll try it out.
#050 is a tabletop (I believe this is a term as I learned from Skley) of my favorite lens. I used my 100mm macro from a tripod, manually mode, manual focus, 2sec autotimer with pre-released mirror. To give the side of the lens some details I used my 430EX flash against the ceiling. I also give it a soft sepia coloring and did few minor improvements with my Aperture software - some much I learned the last 50 days;)
I chose to do a project for 2012 to improve my photography. I planned to take and post a picture each day. Well I reached fifty today, but I will change the objective of my project. Due to other things in life I see now, I will not be able to shoot each day this year. So the plan now is to post a picture from this year each day. If time is short I will post something from my archive.
The Pentacon Six is a high quality medium format single lens reflex camera taking 120 and 220 film for 12 or 24 exposures that are nominally 6cm x 6cm (2¼ x 2¼ inches) – actually 56mm x 56mm, as is standard for medium format cameras. A TTL metering prism is available too. The camera and its predecessor, the Praktisix, was manufactured in East Germany (the GDR) between the mid 1950s and 1990.

Seasonal occupies the back left corner of the store, and electronics has been in the front left location for the vast majority of the store's lifetime, if not from day one. (Doubtful it'll be remaining there however). I seem to remember very early models of computers more front and center within a Target, but this could very well be a memory from the old Hickory Hill location. No doubt though that computer software was (and I belive a small selection still is) in that more central location, evidenced by this photo of a directory from a much earlier time.
And unfortunately, I've had to color correct the green neon slightly as well, though it's nowhere near as far off as the red neon. Still not 100% happy with this result, so hoping my next view of it looks even better.
