Lumix GX1 with Nikkor 55mm micro, LVF2

It's amazing the things that come out of the woodwork when people see you are collecting!

My friend brought me this little gem today, its from 1977, making it officially 30 years old.

Now to find a place with film for it!

Tower 37A with Mamiya-Sekor F.C. 58mm f1.7 lens

One of a pair of cameras from this maker acquired together at a local thrift store. Someone is cleaning out their parent's or grandparent's closet, I'd say.

I got this camera over a year ago in a job lot with three other cameras. Unfortunately, the aperture blades tended to stick and I lost most shots. Then after my success cleaning the blades on an Olympus 35 SP a few days ago (flic.kr/p/KPiEQf), I tried the same technique with this camera - and it worked.

The IIIA is a beautifully built camera with an extremely sharp 50mm f1.8 lens. It has no metering of any kind and setting the aperture and shutter speed is a bit frustrating until you get used to the system. It's also unusual in that the shutter is cocked by depressing the lever on the left of the lens, twice. Despite its eccentricities, it's brilliant for a camera that was first manufactured in 1958. Sample photographs to follow...

Love my Rolleiflex for introducing me to medium format(sorry Holga!). It's compact and light(compared to a Hasselblad), and able to shoot at slow speeds. But time to let it go as I prefer the Hasselblad for shooting, and can't give the Rolleiflex enough love it deserves. :'(

I just received my own photo book, named "Behind My Viewfinder", yesterday. It's an A4 size hardcover self-designed photo book which includes 56 pages and 128 photos. I spent about 3 weeks to customize every photo layout, every background design, and every caption of shooting condition.

Print out your digital photos, it's worthy.

The Nikon F bought new in 1971 by my late uncle, with a 55mm f1.2 AI-converted lens.

My uncle was a keen amateur photographer and the Nikon F was an expensive camera... so he seldom used it. He did a lot of his work on an old Pentax and Praktica!

The more Internet connections we can make, the less "real" connections we seem to have. It seems the majority of contact with the outside world many of us seem to get these days is through the use of one of these.
