Election correspondence so far, with the exception of the BNP leaflet which is in tiny pieces in the shredder. I replaced it with a pizza leaflet here - I think Papa John's has a more coherent political philosophy.

One of three polling places in first election held after Bosque County was organized in 1854. Of 21 votes cast on that occasion (August 7, 1854) in county, 17 were polled under this tree. J. K. Helton was election judge. Officials elected were: L. H. Scrutchfield, judge; P. Bryant, sheriff; Jasper N. Mabray, clerk; Isaac Gary, assessor-collector; Archibald Kell, treasurer.

I was amused that Tam wanted to bring more investment south. He means south from Stornoway. If you live in Stornoway you want to wrest it from Inverness, If you live in Inverness you want to get it away from Edinburgh. If you're in Edinburgh you want it to be devolved from London.

An elections-related booklet prepared by Kuwait Transparency Society to inform the public about the electoral process. About 30 international observers, mostly from the Arab Network for Election Democracy, will monitor the election, along with 300 local volunteers. About 285 candidates are running in the polls to elect a new 50-member National Assembly (parliament).

Jaqueline has been handing out "I Voted" stickers since 7this morning and she's still smiling. This is her first time as an election judge and has been learning a lot, she said. We shared our excitement about taking part in the election, both of us surprised how good it feels. When I asked her if I could take a portrait, she was quick to agree. She formally and politely excused herself to the other judges and took me to the hallway of the polling place (a school). Students flowed around us as I took a few shots.
Here's what I'm learning in this project - people are happy to pose for me, but they assume they're committing to one shot. As I keep going, I hear a little "oh," and the expression changes. I've got to get more upfront about the goal and my hope I can keep shooting 'till I get it right.

Some polls show a close race among three of the candidates – Democrat Rick Weiland, Republican Mike Rounds and Independent Larry Pressler – with Independent Gordon Howie far behind. They are seeking the seat held by Sen. Tim Johnson (D), who is retiring.
