Political candidates participating in the upcoming elections, from the opposition parties and the coalition, were able to share their platforms in an open and transparent setting. Candidates showed civility toward one another and shared ideas that reflected genuine democratic participation.

Voting is very modern, mostly electronic. There are four days of voting and the voter can vote anywhere in the country, he or she doen not have to return to some home voting place! Moreover, if a person votes and then changes his or her mind, he or she may vote again. A person can change their mind as many times as they want. The last vote supercedes all others.
Stanley Katz, director of the Center for Arts and Cultural Policy Studies at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs, moderated a panel discussion about the 2016 presidential election. A Q&A session and discussion with the audience followed along with commentary from the panelists.
Panelists included Ruth Mandel, director of Rutgers’ Eagleton Institute of Politics and founder of Eagleton’s Center for American Women and Politics; Sam Wang, professor of molecular biology and neuroscience at Princeton University and member of the Princeton Election Consortium; and Charles Stile, veteran political columnist at The Record of Bergen County.

I happened to be in Marfa on the Tuesday that elections were being held. People didn't seem as interested in Obama and Hillary as they did in the local offices that were being contested.

Philippine Army soldiers together with PNP Regional Mobile Group PRO-ARMM and Provincial Mobile Group carry the ballot boxes which will be used for the special elections in the municipality of Butig, Lanao del Sur.
