In Albania today (June30th) elections were held, albeit with only one party from which to choose on the ballot in most cases. In several cities throughout Albania today, bands and marchers took to the streets. The song the bands were playing was from the Communist era when they were required to learn and sing a song about the dictator. Thus the song and marching was a symbol of the return to Communism.
Just saw this juvenile bald eagle land in the neighbor's tree across the street. Good timing, this election day -- I hope all my US friends have made time to vote!
Don't forget to VOTE today! These cookies were made by my daughter and three boys for their class project. They are having a "cookie election" at the school. I'm so proud - these had to be made while I was gone, so I stayed up the entire night before my flight and baked and partially decorated a bunch and gave them some they had to decorate all the way and then I made some special cookies to fill in. My daughter was in charge of teaching them to pipe. They had a great time and the boys were super proud of the cookies! What a fun way to learn about the electoral system.
