The votes are coming in…in the USA the Mid-Term Elections yesterday are revealing that The Democrats have won a record number of seats in the House of Representatives, giving them overall control for the first time in 8 years.
Hillary Clinton who won the popular vote by 3MM votes in 2016 remains a devoted Democrat, encouraging US citizens to get out and vote. Seen here are details from a portrait tribute painted by British expressionist artist Stephen B. Whatley that year. The portrait was published in online Election 2016 news coverage in The Guardian newspaper.
The artist has a great affection for the United States - and his portrait of Barack Obama was published in TIME in 2008.
The work of Stephen B. Whatley is showcased through a permanent art exhibit in London: his series of 30 paintings vibrantly charting the history of the Tower of London was commissioned in 2000 - and is reproduced throughout Tower Hill Underpass (outside Tower Hill Station, close to the Tower) - where Americans, amongst them many of his collectors, discover his work.
TDs face heavy fines after erecting election posters in parts of Dublin ahead of the announcement of the 2016 election which is due to be called Today. However, Mr Flanagan of Renua found a way the cheat.
Mr Flanagan’s posters were initially erected advertising a public meeting in Howth this Wednesday. However the meeting details were printed removable stickers which when removed revealed “VOTE No. 1”
A Renua spokesman claimed that Mr Flanagan’s posters had been advertising an event in the local constituency and were compliant with the current framework.

Elections for the members of Congress and local positions (except Barangay officials) occur every second Monday of May every third year after May 1992, and presidential and vice presidential elections occur every second Monday of May every sixth year after May 1992. All elected officials, except those at the Barangay level, start (and end) their terms of office on June 30 of the election year.
On the eve of Election Day, this is what we, the people of the US of A, have been subjected to this election cycle. I'm sure I've missed a bunch of buzz words that have been bandied about, but I was running out of space while composing this meme. No matter what side you choose, we, the people, need to remember we share this country together as Americans. We are all in this world together until we pass on. So be kind to one another. Stop shouting and screaming and start talking and understanding. We will never survive if we don't. That is all I want to say about this topic. Please don't get angry and hate filled here. I won't tolerate it.
A provincial election will be held in less than two weeks' time -- on 2018-06-07. It's time to elect the next government of the province of Ontario, which is Canada's largest with a population of over 14-million people. But if you are just walking down the street, you would not know an election is happening in just 11 days.
I remember up to ten years ago, people used to proudly display which political party they are supporting by allowing signs such as this one to be put on their properties. No longer, people seem much more cynical about politics and voter turnouts have plummeted in recent elections. Most people also refuse to publicly declare which party they are voting.

B.C. ELECTION 2020
• While the Liberals and the NDP beat up on each others’ leaders, the Greens are taking a slightly different approach to this campaign, according to a Postmedia analysis of the major parties’ social media feeds.
• John Horgan promised a re-elected NDP government would commit to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, a promise that builds on the existing CleanBC plan developed in partnership with the Green caucus. But Green Leader Sonia Furstenau said the net-zero emission promise is meaningless without a plan for how to get there.
• The NDP took a risk calling an election, but recent polls seem to indicate it was a risk worth taking. In a survey by Ipsos, released Tuesday, voters were asked point blank whether they approved of the early election and 46 per cent said they did not. But only a small fraction of those polled said the concern was enough to give them pause in considering whether to vote NDP.

As if Democracy has anything to do with voting for A or B or C!
Once every 4 years you exercise your political rights for a few seconds by putting an x on a ballot for candidates that are virtually identical and for names that you do not know.
