Today's adjustment was short and uneventful. Dr Short just tightened the top wire. The next adjustment is in two months. I'll get a new top wire then. In the meantime, I'm supposed to wear these two elastics on the right side for 12 hours everyday.

"Dear Audrey, Thinking of you as I make these masks using the elastic you gave me when we lived in married students housing in Austin so long ago. You got this spool of 1/4" elastic after your Grandmother died and gave it to me. Still using it after all these years and it always makes me miss you. Hope all is well with you and Alan. Love, Pinke

Wikipedia:

Charak Puja is a very enchanting folk festival of the Southern Belt of Bangladesh and West Bengal. It is also known as "Nil Puja". The believers of the Hindu religion celebrate this on the last day of Chaitra (Chaitra Songkranti).

People believe that the festival will carry prosperity by eliminating the sorrow and sufferings of the previous year. The festival is actually a festival to satisfy "Lord Shiva", the great "Debadideb" of Hindu Religion. Though the festival takes place on the mid night of Chaitra Songkranti, the preparation phase usually starts before one month of the day.

The arrangement team of the festival go from village to village to procure the necessary components like paddy, oil, sugar, salt, honey, money and other items with the arranged cosmetics such as Shiva, Parvati and Narod. The cosmetic Shiva is locally called "Nil Pagol" or "Jal Katha". On midnight of the Songkranti, the worshippers are gathered together to worship the God and after Puja the "Prosad" is distributed.

In one place, it is also known as "Hajrha Puja". The woman doesn't take the meal before Puja on this day. Sometimes in this festival a human "Charak" is made ready to satisfy the Lord Shiva. The "Charak" is tied with a hook (Borshi) on his back and then he is moved around a bar with a long rope. Though it is risky, they arrange it.

I can't understand it but for some reason the more I reveal about myself and show you the more vistors and comments I seem to get. I'm getting a bit worried as there is definately a smoke haze and a sizzling smell coming from the back of my computer that reminds me of burning knicker elastic. I've been told they are just friction burns but I'm getting through a lot of underwear so I thought I had better let you all cool down a bit with something a bit more homely for a change. Also it's certainly cool even with the heating on so I thought I might show you this casual jumper from Debenhams which I haven't really worn before. I expect I it will get plenty of views as something I've come to realise and that is there are groups of you kinky people who have a fetish for everything probably even the holes. All I'm going to say is it's nice and comfortable and very much a Jojo Blue..

Thank you to everyone who pauses long enough to look at my photo. All comments and Faves are very much appreciated

Today the Hereios of the We’re Here! Group are visiting Banging my head on a wall.

Sunset over a fairground in St Helier Jersey.

The background for this card is made from 140# cold-pressed watercolor paper (Canson Montval). I placed it on my non-stick craft sheet and used a blending tool and foam to apply Broken China, Scattered Straw, and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks. Then I used sponge daubers (Hero Arts MI002) to apply Faded Jeans, Wild Honey, and Rusty Hinge Distress Inks along the top and bottom edges.

Next I stamped music from Hero Arts CG279 Musical Clef along the top edge using Broken China Distress Ink. I used a paper towel to remove some of the ink before stamping, to give it a distressed look. Then I stamped the long botanical grass or willow image from Hero Arts CL428 Earth Flowers on top, using Wild Honey Distress Ink. And then I stamped a leaf image from Hero Arts CL477 Delicate Leaf Clusters using Tea Dye Distress Ink.

Next, I used a mini-mister to dribble water and immediately dried it using my Heat It craft tool (heat gun) for water splotchies. Then I mixed bronze Perfect Pearls with water on my non-stick craft sheet and used a paint brush to flick the metallic bronze all over the piece. I used my heat tool to dry it. Then, I stamped "Heartfelt Wishes" from Hero Arts CL272 All Occasion Messages using Memento Rhubarb Stalk dye ink.

The large butterfly is made from white cardstock. I stamped a butterfly from Hero Arts CL383 Antique Engravings using Ranger Archival Ink waterproof ink in jet black. Then I colored it using Victorian Velvet, Worn Lipstick, and Fired Brick Distress Inks applied with sponge daubers. I carefully cut out the butterfly and then added glitter to the edge of its wings using a Sakura clear glitter gel pen. I attached the butterfly using foam squares for dimension. See a close-up here.

The smaller butterflies were made by applying Picket Fence Distress Crackle Paint to pink cardstock. Once it was dry, I used punches to punch out the butterfly shapes. They are attached using Glossy Accents as glue.

I added a border to the top and bottom of the focal piece using Fiskars Sunburst Border Punch. I wrapped it with metallic gold elastic cord and attached it to a kraft card base to finish it off.

Part of my inspiration for this card was the Day 4 prompt in my friend Christy's (Gulfsprite's) 30 Days of Art Journaling class.

Thanks for looking! :-)

Made from elastic bands... Some days ago I was also infected by rainbow loom fever, now I am a bit afraid how much time I will have for origami... ;)

I love how you can play with the colors and the patterns...

From many elastics and only crocheted with hook.

This large tub of elastic bands is in the Post Office sorting office.

12 1/2 surviving pairs from 7 years or so of holidays. About 2 pairs are in plimsoll heaven. I take other styles on holidays but most of the time I take a pair of these. They are in various states from nearly new to falling apart
