In the municipality of Frontera, in the island of El Hierro, rises the Church of Candelartia. Isolated on the top of a small hill, its white and red colors contrasts with the green of the slope that rises behind.
Panoramic view of La Caletilla Gulf and the northern slope of the Gulf Valley. On the horizon one can see the Roques de Salmor, last refuge of the giant lizards of El Hierro. The entrance to Los Roquillos tunnel con be seen on the right, at the bottom of the slope. This tunnel connects the Frontera village in the gulf to the Valverde village located on the the island highlands.
