The landscape of El Hierro is overwhelmingly beautiful, due to the orography of the island, there are currently more than 300 volcanoes in the landscape that we can see and another 200 covered by lava flows, with heights that reach more than 2000 meters, with Laurisilva forests and pine forests. .

The San Antonio volcano in the south of La Palma (crater depth 104 m, crater rim height 632 m, 3200 years old) is one of the younger volcanoes on the island.

You can park near the crater and circle about half of the crater rim on an easy footpath.

In search of a favorable location I found above the crater on a small hill near a bodega. On the horizon, the island of El Hierro appears in the morning mist under a narrow cloud.
