Notwithstanding the panv in power, the colour of Indian state is s~~on: The Babri masiid verdict once again proves thad .
The Sabri MasJtd Verdict most certainly stands as yet another brazen vindication of the .
communal. fascist, and hindu majoritarian nature of the lndtan state. What is more dangerous .
howAver ts the way every ruling class party in this country is justifying and trying to 'normalize' th s rabidly communal verdict and in effect its pre-history. Duly assisted by the corporate media, these parliamentary oarttes are trytng to hide the fascist ramtfications of this judgment. The judgment not only blatantly denied justice to the mt..sbms by vesting 2/3 land of the Sabri Masjid to the hindus but also dangerously upheld faith of the dominant upper cas:e hindu community The verdtct after all reasserts the fact that Muslims are second class citizens in this country, :. no should rematn contented with the "generosity" shown by the judiciary m vesting JUSt one-third of the land, which \\ ~o 1. elongs to them otherw1se .
The communal fascist sangh parivar is jubilant because of obvious reasons. The same forces who blatantly defied S~.-::,.eme Court restncttons to demolish the mosque in 1992 have suddenly become the most 'law-abiding citizens'. S::.:ause the JUdiciary tn most u tcertatn terms upheld their 3~e'lda, vindicated thetr 'astha', and legalized their barbaric a::s Thus Advant m hrs reactton to the Ayodhya verdict said that "I belteve th'3t the Ayodhya judgment will mark the si🇦🇷 of a new chapter for nat1onal untty, · It is the same Hir. dutva definition of natrona! unity' he was talking about. It .
mo 1es that rf the musl!ms/daltts/adrvasts/other minorities wish to live in India, they will have to live as per the terms of t~e orahmanvadt domrnam Htndu forces Empowered by the verdict the same communal murderers now are not merely ce ebratrng thetr victory over two-thtrds of the land. but are also in the name of 'peace' and ttolerance' most audaciously ~nreaten1ng the Musl1m community to forget the killings, rapes, pogroms of the past' and give up even their remaining cia1m over the land thus becoming 'active collaborators' in the building of a 'magnificent' Ram mandir. .
The parliamentary pseudo-left, spearheaded by CPM, keeping in mind the upcoming assembly polls in Bengal and Kerela (where they are majorly banking on the hindu 'vote bank') in most oppo, rtunistic fashion delayed and finally restrained from taking a clear position on the verdict. Much like the page three Bollywood stardust they rne~e y ·appealed to all parttes to "accept" the judgment 'peacefully'. Who are they apoealing to? Let us remind them, ~..,e ·.1ushrns tn tnts country had kept calm when in 1949 some miscreants installed a Ram tdol right at the centre of their r1as;1d and the Indian state subsequently locked it stopping the namaz in the historical mosque; they maintained peace Vvhen later tn 1986 they opened the mosque to allow the Hindus to perform pooja; they preserved peace even when 🇷🇪 were communally abused and targeted all over the country during Advan1's Rath Yatra in 1990; they maintained it :. n::-tl was der1oltshed by the frenzied r:-1cb and rather suffered in its aftermath 1n 1992. The hmdu fascist sangh g1roh O'"' ·.,e other 1-la'ld ha1 been htstor1cally behind all comr1unal frenzres. massacres, pogroms. demolitions, riots. T~.~y s ,..,..,o 1 don t care aoout the bentgn appeals made by these pseudc-left. The conu1und1 fascists can not be rt:t11ed by .
a:J~eal!ng· to !he1r ·moral conscience' They have to be fought on ground which ts definttely not what the pseudo-Left chooses to do The only 'problem' CPM seems to have with the verdict is with its nature which was on the basis of faith. Bu: they maintained a calculated s1lence on the outcome cf the verdict in the shape of the unjust division of the land in fa .::>ur of the htndus The1r unwillingness to take positions and demand real JUStice 1n tl-te shape of the re-building of the rnosaue for the persecuted and betrayed minority; their appeal to 'peacefully kowtow before this atrocious judgment artc call for reposing farth back on the same judiciary once a~3in exposes the farce, toothless-ness, opportunism and the saffron shade of the1r secular credentials. .
The Congress which has always postured as the 'secular alternative' to the communal fascist BJP has its real communal face exposed yet again. And there rs no. 11ng new to 1t Every t1me tn be it 1949, 1986, 1990, 1992 or in :'2.. 0 Congress was 1n center And all the fascist agenda of the sangh g1roh has been material :zed and fac1l1tated with -.e active support of that central government The eng1nee;r mg of the nets, the demolition of the mosque had all been done w1th acltve patronage from the Congress led Indian state. The perpetrBtors of 1992 are still moving scot free because of the clear· consent of the Congress government. For Congress the judgment is not 'anyone's victory or loss'! Tne clear den=31 of JUStice to the muslims by the rabidly ~ornmunal verdict is betng portrayed by Congress as the re:f.ect1on of the ·secular credentials', 'matunty of Indian people' and our bid to 'reconciliation and harmony' They are w ·~Lully blind to the vtndicatton 1n the verdrct of the agenda of the commL'lal fascists to fotcefuily build a temple o, a .ard on whtch the Babn masJ.d stood vVhile leaders lil<e Otfvijay Singh hatted the verdict as 'best possible verd:ct' C"'tdambaram wants the nat1on to 'move on'. He further vuserved that this verdrct has nothing to do with the act of cernolttion of the Babn masjrd on December 6, 1992 All these are dellberat~ attempts to put a garb on the j ""''!'"".asing s·,.onghold of the communal fascists. Becaus'-once this JUdgement vallc3ted !he basic cJaim of the sangh giroh that the ~aSJid was an rlleg1timate structure built after destruction of the Ram temple, the criminal case against them who oe~ohshed the mosque gets aut0mat1cally weakened. Fv~~er, the award of tne title of the desired land to the same .:or-;es accords moral justification to the1r act of demolition 1r1 retrospect. And therefore it is a clear victory of the CO'llmunal fascrsts v.-hich the Congress will never admrt. It obv1ously wants ever/ body to forget this and move on, like .

Had a little experiment with 1-2 of my photos, here's the city from Salisbury Crags.Any comments welcome ?
See the uncropped version here.
Ah the perils of wide-angle photography. Not enough room at the sides to straighten the horizon without ending up with a tighter crop than I would have liked. Still, at least you don't have to twist your head to one side when looking at it...
