Photoshop is cool. So many Asian countries are "westernizing" so rapidly. I thought a good symbol of this would be a Buddha headed man in typicall "western" clothes. The lotus pond is just for effect. I'm sure it looks pretty rookie but I think the point gets accross. More of a "proof of conecpt" I guess. Oh yeah that isn't me its just some dude.

Tri-ang Hornby into Hornby era..... between 1971 and 1974. Very strangely, I find out now that the customised third one is painted in what the Hornby Collectors guide show as a catalogue image with the upper bars painted black... now the question is, did he know that he was doing that, or was it sheer coincidence?? Available 1971 - 1974 as such - but the black rails of the mentioned photo do not get a mention in my Pat Hammond Volume 2! What is mentioned is: 'As it first appeared in March 1971 the model had a dark grey body... remained in production until 1974 during which time was produced also in platform grey and rail blue....' and 'in Bannockburn livery arrived in 1973. The Roberts Davy and Barrow liveries followed later.' So much to learn - and I skipped a bit about the wheels used! Oddly was is also pictured in this volume is a grey one numbered 52111 which is described as a 'Hand-painted pre-production sample..' so in effect I have a very similar three! Of course now I want to get the other two - and a production one with the black rails if they do exist...! Ok... looking again at the Hornby Collectors Guide, I see now that the black rail variant, while used for the overall wagon picture, is in fact shown as the 1974 catalogue image..... so I'm on a hunt now!! Ok a swift look the auction site I like the most (ahem!) revealed lots of varieties of later production versions.... but literally only 1 with the black rails, and the seller knew enough to mention them! Price £6.99 + £5.99 postage is a little high for me to contemplate... but if I spy one sometime begging it will be snapped up!
