The old saying “disrupt or become disrupted” has become alarmingly clear to those in edtech, where valuations are plunging, and core businesses are becoming obsolete due to the rise of free A.I. tools. How can innovators working across edtech adapt to, and compete with, the rise of these new technologies? To address this challenge, Chegg recently launched its own AI-powered study aid, powered by GPT-4. When students return from their summer break, the competition for A.I.-tutors will ramp up once again, but will Chegg be able to stay ahead of the curve in shaping the next chapter of education?
