Devia ser triste em minha ausência, nunca existia alegria em seu olhar e sempre esteve do meu lado, mas contentou-se em me deixar brilhar.

Cuidou de mim como ninguem jamais cuidou.
E sempre o seu rosto escondido, vejo a firmeza no lugar da dor.
Sabia que você, é a familia que eu quis ter, é tudo aquilo que eu desejava ser.
Eu posso voar, mais alto que uma águia, pois você é o vento sobre as minhas asas.
A letter to the editor in response to cutting down of a magnificent neighborhood tree:
"Today, a great willow oak, probably as old as Huntsville itself is being destroyed down to the pavement on Pratt Avenue at Five Points. Before that, last year the same happened to a likewise old landmark pecan in Figures Alley. The resulting static from inquiries are invariably, "They were diseased." Neither of these had any evidence of disease. So what if an occasional limb drops and makes a dent on someone's BMW? We need a serious tree commission with similar regulations to Atlanta, even covering private property."
