We're walking along in the gothic quarter, and we come upon a bucket of cold beers and tapas! Eva, you rock!

EdTechDiva came over Twitter today and challenged us to show what's in our tech "bag". Here's mine-1st row-air card and case, Discovery ED USB hub and case, battery charger and case, iPod charging cord, iPod Touch with my Bose in-ear headphones and case. 2nd row- cell phone, Flip camera, Canon still camera, blood sugar monitor (for my Type 2 Diabetes) and portable speakers for my iPodT. This AND my MacBook Pro and cord I carry to and from school every day. I also carry the card reader for my camera, which I forgot to include

An example of how CPD involving educational technology might look in a school.

Went to see the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater this evening. They performed Mary Lou's Mass, The Hunt, Cry & Revelations. I love Revelations, it is one of my favorite ballets. But, The Hunt (which I had never seen) was one of the most exciting dances I have ever seen.

You can not photograph the proformance, so I took this photo with my iPhone before the performance started.

Chalk and projector connections, all together.

Hundreds of teachers and makers gathered at the ReMake Education Summit, organized by the Sonoma County Office of Education on August 2 - 4, 2017, at Studio 180 in Sonoma. I really like this local maker event, which helps you connect with some of the same folks you might meet at Maker Faire, but without all the crowds, and with a healthy focus on education in our area.

Here are photos of the events and exhibits featured in this set:

• 360 Storytelling and Immersive Learning through VR Creation (Dimitri Moore & Lisa Jobson)

• Design Thinking with Puppets (Sam Patterson & Elaine Wrenn)

• Storytelling in the STEAM Classroom - NASA’s Journey to Mars (Kimberly Brush, Casey Shea & Anna Van Dordrecht)

• HyperDuino interactive maker projects (Roger Wagner)

• How to program a Raspberry Pi

• Make your own cardboard guitar

• 180 Studios maker workshop

I gave a talk about our Maker Art classes on Thursday afternoon. We teach children to create magical worlds together, combining art, tech and storytelling. Our students get really engaged in the process, which helps them develop their creative, problem-solving and social skills. The talk was well received and folks seemed to enjoy hearing about our latest classes on the Time Machine and Robot World.

Many thanks to Dan Blake, Matt O'Donnell, Casey Shea, Anna Van Dordrecht and the whole team at the Sonoma County Office of Education and 180 Studios for organizing this fine gathering. They did a great job connecting teachers, makers and resources. It was a great way to share best practices, brainstorm new ideas, and start new collaborations.

Bad idea #1 for professional development, especially for teaching.

Create yet another community or website (YACW) for your project. They never last beyond project funding..

Here are just three examples from the Australian Government.

EdTech 20008. ILTA elkarteak Éire-ko Dundalk herrian antolatutako biltzarra hezkuntza eta teknologia berrien inguruan. Dundalk-eko Teknologia Institutuan burutu zen. Album honetako argazkiek Creative Commons lizentzia dute eta Gorka Jakobe Palaziok egindakoak dira

I've been working on both concepts individually but have finally gotten to the point of combining them. Still some tweaking to do before counting this as the definitive version, but definitely one step closer to done!
