A Happy & Blessed Easter weekend to all of you! Disney's California.

Take a walking tour of The Sleeping Beauty Castle! :)

NOTE: It was a full blown tilt-shift but I reduced the focus size and defocus gradient. I wanted the castle to be more in focus.. It was a cloudy day when I took this shot. :)

Archrock, Keurboomstrand, South Africa. Had taken a set of varying exposures during the Easter weekend sunrise shots from earlier in my photostream, just hadn't found a tool to perform a satisfactory HDR merge. Really wasn't happy about the results from Photomatix, but managed to run them through PS CS2, which turned out much better (I think anyways) - still undecided as to whether HDR added much more in terms of visual appeal as opposed to the previous untouched photos. Guess it comes down to the subject of the photo.

Instead of hoppin' down the bunny trail, Landree Brin is zoomin' down the bunny trail with her pink mohair bear on her pink scooter!

Taken at Doolin Pier, County Clare, Ireland. I was so pleased to get this shot, especially catching the spray's reflection in the pool as well :)

I can't believe we had such amazing weather over the Easter weekend. I'm saying this, because its SNOWING outside right now... don't think it's going to lie, but I don't remember ever seeing it snowing in Northern Ireland mid April before LOL

Wishing you all a wonderful and blessed Sunday whatever you do and wherever you are :)

Thank you so much for all the lovely comments on yesterdays Sea Eagle photo :)

I apologise if I haven't commented on any of your work lately, I will try and get round soon :) :)

Hope you all have a wonderful and blessed weekend. Happy Easter!

Owl, with attitude!

Back to County Clare, Ireland and the Bird of Prey Centre in Aillwee Caves, Ballyvaughan.

Jessie the Barn Owl was so photogenic and most of the photos of her actually came out really really well :)

So, my car is finally road worthy again and I have the certificate to prove it LOL got the all clear yesterday evening :)

Happy Tuesday everyone and thank you all for the lovely comments on yesterday's Mistle Thrush pic :)

Oysters on the beach in Eoligarry

The melting ice of Atlin Lake has been forced together into a pressure ridge by wind and current. In the foreground an open lead of water where a stream empties into the lake. Behind are some of the incredible mountains that help define the landscape. Above, a northern sky dominated by cloud and light.

The beautiful Saker Falcon (heavily cropped) at the Bird of Prey centre at Aillwee Cave, Ireland.

When my family and I stayed in County Clare over the Easter break, my sister pointed out a Bird of Prey centre nearby and so we all headed off and had a wonderful time there watching them in flight :)

I found it so hard to get this bird in focus... (this was the only one out of hundreds) I seriously don't know how some of you manage to get such amazing pictures of birds in flight.

Hope you all have a wonderful Thursday. I'm struggling this week with a sore back, a really sore back, hoping it eases soon as I've never had anything like this before, thankfully I can still move, but buckling my shoes was pretty much impossible, so I'm grateful the weather is good today and I can wear flip flops LOL

Thank you everyone for such generous comments on my baby lamb pic yesterday :) :) :)

We never get snow here, we are situated next to the sea and sandwiched between two rivers so it just never gets quite cold enough.....but today, after Spring has sprung we did! Weather is just so unpredictable!

The solitary tree is standing right at the spot where best view on the Capilano Lake you have.

There is a bench over there (I did not include it in the scene) and people can sit and admire the beauty of the lake and mountains.

I took a low angle and the perspective created the illusion that the tree is much taller than the Lions peaks.

Shot taken at Capilano River Regional Park in the weekend.

I have been coming to this area for over 40 years and so have two other generations in my family. My Grandparents were part of many projects and organizations that supported the preservation of these parks. My mother took part in many ecological clean-ups and even was a water monitor that decided when it was safe/unsafe to go into the waters along the lakeshore. Now my kids have had the opportunity to explore this national treasure with me, and over the past few years.

Precious Blood Cemetery

Woonsocket, RI

April 2nd, 2015

Some history on this cemetery with an interesting past:

"The Precious Blood Cemetery is in Woonsocket, RI and it continues into Blackstone, Mass. It is located at the intersection of Diamond Hill and Rathbun Street. The main entrance is in Rhode Island but most of the cemetery is in Mass. It was closed to any new burial plots as of May, 31 1955.

Some of the graves have makeshift wooden crosses with handwritten names and epitaphs. There are also ones made of concrete that are crumbling after time. Many of these are located in the back part of the cemetery. There is a reason that this part of the cemetery most definitely might be haunted.

In August, 1955 there was a catastrophe for the area. The area got hit by two weakened but very wet hurricanes. The first one was Hurricane Connie which dropped nine inches of water in Woonsocket and other areas on August 13th and 14th.

One week later came Hurricane Diane. This hurricane brought even more rain to the overflowing rivers and ponds. All this water was too much for the area and it was sweeping away houses and businesses. The Blackstone River runs along the back of the cemetery and when that flooded, Harris Pond, which is also in the area, flooded. The pond flooded so much that it took part of the cemetery away with it.

More than fifty caskets broke and the deceased floated away with the water. Some floated down the street and others floated out to sea never to be seen again. Pieces of caskets and remains were found all over the area.

After the flood many of the bodies were brought to the mausoleum at Precious Blood. They were then reburied and new headstones were made. Some even needed new caskets. It is thought that some of the bodies aren’t the ones that match the headstones they are laid to rest with.

Because of this happening many people think the spirits are looking for there loved ones they were buried next to before the flood. Orbs have been seen on many occasions. Paranormal investigators have also recorded voices and unexplained noises.

Stop in and take a look for yourself. Be sure you check out the back of the cemetery. Maybe you can run into a ghost or two. Just remember to stop in while the cemetery is open and never trespass."

Easter Monday and I had a lovely drive around with Sinead in an attempt to find nice new spots. After we drove all the way to Cove (thanks Dougie for showing us) the weather was really not great so we made our way back to The Lothians. Conditions were not ideal but we stopped everywhere more or less on the way, Dunbar, The Bridge to Nowhere, North Berwick, Gullane, Aberlady, Longniddry, Cockenzie and Port Seton. Finally, we saw some light hitting Longniddry Bents across the water. Quickly drove back and managged to snap this one last minute (well last 4 minutes to be precise).

The soundtrack I had in mind while shooting this was:

Arching my foot so to gain some outside attention from a passerby.

Picture on the left by Sandro.

I photographed these three at a local farm's open lambing event. I thought the way they were posing was quite amusing.

We had a little bit of spring sunshine one afternoon this weekend and it felt so good to get out and try to capture it. :)

Hope everyone is having a lovely Easter Weekend. We are heading back home today so I will definitely be catching up on everyone’s streams tonight! Thank you for all your kind comments!!

Slight crop and my signature added and that's the height of editing on this pic - I absolutely loved the bird displays at Aillwee Cave, in Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare, Ireland over the Easter weekend :)

The Barn Owl was so silent as she flew across and over our heads. Her name was Jessie and what a beauty!

so, yesterday, my car was up for it's yearly vehicle test..... it failed :( but, will be up 'n runnin' shortly :) anyway, to cheer me up, I got a new pair of shoes and matching handbag bought for me :) :) :)

Have a very happy Wednesday everyone, hope you are all well :)

Thank you so much for the really kind comments on yesterday's raindrop photo :)

yesterday...and there's more today, and the sun's not shining .... Nevertheless...Easter's not about the weather! Best Wishes to all!

No, don't go. Don't run. Ah, away you go then. Do I look like I care? I'll just happily meander behind you and wait for you to trip over the nothing that's in your way. See...there you go. You do know what day it is, don't you? Is it Friday? Is it the 13th? Is it Friday the 13th? No. No, it is not. That means it's one of my many days off. I'm not working. I'm here. For Easter. Having a Frolic.

When I do work I do enjoy the carefree side of it. Getting out into nature. Striding through the trees. Breathing in that fresh crystal clear air. You couldn't really call me a workaholic since it's hardly even work. Maybe I'm a workafrolic.

You'd think being someone who rises from the dead I'd get a bit more respect on a day like this. But no. Here I am hopping around the woods, with my eggs and my ears looking like the biggest numpty in the numptysphere and what happens? Oooh, there's the big machete wielding maniac lets run away. Aaaah he's got some chocolate wrapped in shiny foil that he could sharpen to a point and stab me with.

Hmmm. Note to self: learn how to cause death by chocolate.

A colourful fishing boat taken back over Easter on my only 'holiday' of 2015, a long weekend in Cornwall. Not a great year and a dreadful end with my car's fuel pump breaking on Boxing Day in mid-Wales forcing me to be taken home on a pick-up truck instead of seeing my Niece's new flat in Cardiff. let's hope (please!) for better things in 2016 and I wish all readers of my Flickr site and happy and successful New Year.

"Every year I'm freaking PINK!"

Happy Easter, everyone!

It has become a doctrine that street photography is best to be done in black & white.

However there are cases or photographers that are doing street photography in colour.

There must be some reasons for colour?

Fred Herzog is the famous Vancouver street photographer who did street capture in colour. I am hoping to get inspiration from him.

In the Easter weekend, I had a wander in the quiet Lansdowne Mall and there was no Easter event or so in the shopping centre.

I am not sure if this scene has the reasons for colour.

Happy Wednesday!
