Just doing my bit for the planet. Maybe i should have waited 'til i switched the lights back on before i took my photo?

Thirty three and a half minutes over Canary Wharf taken during last night Earth Hour.

7:42pm, March 31 2007, Earth Hour, Sydney - where Sydneysiders (supposed to) turned all their lights off between 7:30-8:30pm... for the sake of reducing greenhouse gas emission, fighting global warming, save our lovely planet... but apparently, not everyone was participating, and I saw more cars on the streets, as people like me all came to the harbour to see the city in the dark.

This photo was taken from Bradleys Head, Sydney Harbour National Park, Mosman, where you can still see some lights of the buildings like Opera House are on. The bridge has its light off, the tower too (and my home too).

I've made some colour adjustment in Photoshop to make the sky looks different, as well as bring out the contrast of the on and off of the lights from the buildings.

Big Light, don't burn yourself! :-)

I shut down for an hour with only these six candles burning, I thought it was going to be so peaceful....... but the neighbors had an argument, and there is some kind of salsa party taking place across the street, never would of known if I hadn't turned off the TV and tried to inflect on the meaning of life... or a least sip my whiskey in peace :-)

Earth Hour is a global event organized by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature, also known as World Wildlife Fund) and is held on the last Saturday of March annually, asking households and businesses to turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for one hour to raise awareness towards the need to take action on climate change. Earth hour was conceived by WWF and The Sydney Morning Herald in 2007, when 2.2 million residents of Sydney participated by turning off all non-essential lights.[1] Following Sydney's lead, many other cities around the world adopted the event in 2008.[2][3] Earth Hour 2010 will take place on March 27, 2010 from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., local time.
