Conductor Bill Reidy's shuttle train returns from Alna Center in a steady, pouring rain. Rain coats just didn't cut it this year. Full-body rain suits were the uniform of the day. All of the train crew members really earned their "pay" this day. That pay was the gratitude of the 500+ hardy Mainers who turned out this day, despite the challenges.

This sweater is a recent addition to my closet. I just thrifted it a few months ago.

My neck was chilly and I added a serape scarf for a stripes on stripes look. I swear this scarf goes with everything.

Belmond Royal Scotsman liveried 66743 sees a more mundane duty as it rumbles through Aston heading 4M46 Southampton Western Docks to Trafford Park.

From my bike ride on Wednesday.

Have a fantastic day, everyone...

It is a long narrow loch, 17 km west of Crieff and is approximately 10.5 km long, 1.2 km at its widest point (56.38N, 4.22W) and at its deepest point (approximately halfway along) about 87 m. Lochearnhead village is situated at the western end of the loch and St. Fillans village at the eastern end. From here, the River Earn flows eastwards from the loch, through Strathearn, and eventually joins the Firth of Tay some 75 km away. Lochearnhead is the centre for the water sports activities on the loch; water skiing, canoeing and sailing. The loch is also stocked regularly with brown and rainbow trout and fishing, by permit, is possible from the shore and by boat.

the trust and respect between a slave and a Mistress is NOT given, it has to be earned, if you love your slaves like family and not just an object for your entertainment, the relationship will blossom and bloom into something bigger better and stronger than you know, your slaves/subs are still people and still have feelings DO NOT ABUSE THAT TRUST!

Having already pictured 50008 working this at Parson Street as it was approaching Bristol (A shot I just managed with about 5 seconds to spare!) the chase was on to get across the centre of Bristol to record it yet again departing north on my trusty Suzuki-600.It actually arrived in Bristol about 30m ahead of schedule then preceeded to depart 60m early missing out most of its wait time there.Sadly the sun wasn't quite so good but still satisfactory given the backlit nature of this location. So here is '4Z01' the 08:50 from Okehampton going to Chaddeston Sidings nr Derby. An extreemly rare 'solo' Class-50 working on the mainline in non-passenger revenue earning service.

Betsy (Tammy's cousin) and her Girl Scout troop are off on an adventure. The scouts are trying to earn their orienteering merit badges today. Troop 112 is small and is welcoming new members. Please consider joining!

The girls are wearing uniforms made by Pedigree for Patch (Sindy's little sister). I made three of the berets, the felt shoes, one of the ties, and all of the belts. I just found Tammy's dress at the flea market and dyed it brown (was dingy cream).

Background: a photo I took at a local lake. I enlarged it and had it printed.

Scotch Kooler and Scotch Bag: Just made those out of paper. I made a tutorial that I will post at the end.

Thermos: Rement

Compass: vintage, just got it at the last flea market

Yellow Life Jacket: just found it at a thrift store

Life Saver Ring: found at a flea market last summer

I am so thrilled to see this little Girl Scout Troop come to life! I have been planning this for months. It is not easy to get these uniforms. Patch (with the whistle) has the most complete/original of the outfits. I have the little socks that go with this and she is wearing the brown panties that match. The only repro that she is wearing is the belt.

Church of St Blaise, Haccombe Devon. earns 2 stars in Simon Jenkins’ “England’s Thousand Best Churches”

It was built in 1233 by Sir Stephen de Haccombe on his return from the 5th Crusade, which he dedicated to St Blaise, a 4th-century Armenian Bishop and Martyr whose fame he had encountered in the East.

Enlarged in the 14c when it was consecrated by Bishop Grandisson in 1328

It consists of a nave, chancel, four-bay north aisle with lean-to roof, west end bellcote & south porch.

The church has been associated with the Courtenay / Carew family for over 500 years, and is noted for its fine collection of Mediaeval effigies & brasses dating from 1469 to 1656,

The rector of the church holds the rare title of Archpriest a privilege founded in medieval times and ratified in 1913 by King George V. This entitles him to wear lawn sleeves, like a bishop, and a fur stole, or amyss / amice (www.pbs.org.uk/news/index.asp ) This title reflects the fact that the Archpriest has the right to sit beside the Bishop at ceremonies, and recognises no authority lower than the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Restoration by John Hayward in 1861 when new lancet windows, single, paired and grouped, were copied form existing windows as shown in Swete's watercolour of 1798.

The church was praised by the Prayer Book Society in March 2008 for using only the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.

The bell, dating from 1290, may be the oldest in Devon, and there are several remarkable monuments.

Still out earning its keep with V/line passenger, A66 was given the task of rescuing a failed passenger train in Seymour after N451 encountered some problems.

Powering through the Great Dividing Range away from Kilmore East, A66 hauls a failed N451 and 6 car H set towards Wandong and then onto the peak of the range at Heathcote Junction with 8382 empty car movement from Seymour to Melbourne's Southern Cross station.

BELIEVE IT!

I earned a "FREE" 24lb. turkey

at my local supermarket I cooked it this last week. We have been eating it for days! Turkey dinners, turkey salad, hot turkey/gravy sandwiches. I was at work yesterday after eating turkey for lunch and dinner...my eyes were heavy and I just couldn't seem to snap out of it, then I remembered:

Turkey does have the makings of a natural sedative in it, an amino acid called tryptophan.

Tryptophan helps the body produce the B-vitamin niacin, which, in turn, helps the body produce serotonin, a remarkable chemical that acts as a calming agent in the brain and plays a key role in sleep. SO....if you eat a lot of turkey, your body would produce more serotonin and you would feel calm and want a nap.
