Finally broke down and tried the Legacy. After some frustration with the Hud .... I have to say I like it. Particularly the shoulders. Max and Amy liked it too .... so it's a go for now.

Now that the bright sunshine has disappeared and, in the quest to get something topical that didn't feature bleached-out greens, I took Norman Tebbit's advice and got on my bike yesterday.
Heading over to the Warrington area I stopped off at Moss Lane Bridge in Moore and bagged this shot of DRS class 88 unit 88002 'Prometheus' hurrying south with the 5.48am Mossend - Daventry containers (4M27).
In the background can be seen the uprights of the Gentlemen of Moore Rugby Union Football Club - sadly enduring an enforced closure at this time and, like many similar sporting clubs, hoping they will be able to recover once the lockdown is lifted.
At least 88002 seems to be having no such problem and is busy generating some cash for Direct Rail Services.

To earn 1,000 Sri Lankan rupees, workers must harvest at least 18kg per day otherwise they get a lower rate per kilo. These fees are set by the government which also leases the tea estates to companies
The White Church, the former parish kirk, is Comrie's most striking building, with its prominent tower and spire situated on the roadside of the ancient churchyard at the heart of the village. This is an early Christian site, dedicated to the obscure early saint Kessog (or Mokessog), who may have flourished in the 8th century. The Comrie Parish Church is of a grand Gothic style, disproportionate to anything else in the village dominates the distant skyline. It was designed and built in 1881 by George T Ewing. Comrie is also graced by a little-known Charles Rennie Mackintosh building, a shop in the main street with a first floor corner turret built in a version of the Scottish vernacular style. Some of the buildings and homes in the village date back hundreds of years with many traditional highland cottages built in dry-stone and/or clay which all would have originally been endowed with thatched roofs. In the higher mountain glens surrounding the village traditional highland blackhouses, most now in ruins, are also to be found. There are also a number of grand estate homes and historic castles in the local area. For the most part however, in the main quadrants of the village are to be found Victorian and Edwardian buildings, including many large detached villas and small terraces. In the newer parts of the village more modern properties from the 1950s onwards dominate, including extremely modern properties of varying character.
The mountains on the south side of Loch Earn in the centre of Scotland are quite impressive and exceed 2,000 feet with the highest, Ben Vorlich, rising to over 3,200 feet. When this was taken the cloud base was already quite low, and more clouds were rolling in to obscure the tops of the mountains.

Wybung Head, perched in the Munmorah State Conservation Area, is the kind of place that earns its name. "Wybung" is a local Aboriginal word meaning "Dangerous Sea," and this headland delivers on that promise with sheer, unfenced cliffs and an ocean that is perpetually trying to lull unwary rock fisherman, and photographers, to their grave.
The headland offers 270-degree views of the coastline, and on a clear day, you can see for miles—just don’t get too close to those crumbly edges. Whale watchers and ocean gazers find plenty to love here. However, shade and shelter are entirely absent, and the wind shows no mercy. We visited on a Wednesday afternoon when the temperature soared into the 30s °C and the wind gusted at 40 km/h. I’ve never felt closer to understanding life inside an air fryer.
After edging uncomfortably close to the edge of the crumbly cliffs at the end of the headland for the obligatory heart-stopping views, we decided to head down to the cheerily named Deadman’s Beach. Because why wouldn’t you follow up a stop at "Dangerous Sea" with a jaunt to "Deadman’s Beach"? “Track” is a generous term—it’s more like a gravity experiment with added rocks. From there, we scrambled around the rockshelf to Frazer Beach for a swim. The ocean has never felt so refreshing! The crowd (about a dozen people) wasn’t ideal, but hey, its school holidays, and the nearby campground explains the human influx.
This photo captures Wybung Head itself, though its sheer scale is hard to convey. If you squint, you might spot a post with a lifejacket at the end of the rockshelf to the bottom right of Wybung, a small but poignant reminder of the dangers of the seas at this beautiful place.
Have a great week out there.
Thanks for all the kind comments , they are always greatly appreciated.
The red-bellied woodpecker (Melanerpes carolinus) is a medium-sized woodpecker of the family Picidae. It breeds mainly in the eastern United States, ranging as far south as Florida and as far north as Canada.
The red-bellied earns its name from the pale reddish blush of its lower underside. A Red-bellied Woodpecker can stick out its tongue nearly 2 inches past the end of its beak. The tip is barbed and the bird’s spit is sticky, making it easier to snatch prey from deep crevices. Males have longer, wider-tipped tongues than females, possibly allowing a breeding pair to forage in slightly different places on their territory and maximize their use of available food.
Red-bellied Woodpeckers pair off in late winter and early spring. They are seasonally monogamous, meaning that pairs remain together for one nesting season. The male initiates courtship by drumming to attract the female's attention. If she joins him, they engage in a mutual tapping display before settling down to excavate a nest cavity,
The female lays three to eight white eggs in the nest cavity, which both parents incubate in turns, with the female on the day shift and the male taking over at night. Both parents also feed the young once they hatch. In northern parts of their range, Red-bellied Woodpeckers usually raise a single clutch per season, but in the South, they may raise two or even three clutches per year.
Predators of adult red-bellied woodpeckers include birds of prey such as sharp-shinned hawks and Cooper's hawks, black rat snake and house cats. Known predators of nestlings and eggs include red-headed woodpeckers, owls, pileated woodpeckers, eastern gray squirrels, fox squirrels, gray rat snakes and black rat snakes. When approached by a predator, red-bellied woodpeckers either hide from the predator, or harass it with alarm calls. They defend their nests and young aggressively, and may directly attack predators that come near the nest.
