Managing yellowjackets and paper wasps starts with early detection and rapid response. Walking the perimeter of your house or a building you manage starting in June can help you to identify the beginnings of a stinging insect nest. These can be knocked down with a strong stream of water or a long pole. Ideally this work should be completed at night when all colony members are on the nest. Wear thick, loose clothing and gloves to prevent stings. Stomp the nest when it hits the ground to kill colony members. Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Tree Lighting 2011
In honor of a family member we lost to breast cancer Theresa Irene Wolowski and Ryan Janek Wolowski, first lit this Kanzan tree in pink lights as a tribute to Maura Wolowski on 11-14-2010
After the tree was lit with pink mini holiday lights we said a prayer for Maura Wolowski and her surviving family members. She is still very much loved and not forgotten.
Please encourage the ones you love to have a screening for breast cancer.
During the holiday season we often gather and see family members. We are hoping this pink tree will make it easier and more likely that folks with be able to talk about breast cancer with their family members as well as their doctors.
for example..Hey did you hear Aunt Theresa did a pink tree on her front lawn? Really why? She made a breast cancer awareness tree, instantly the whole room had an easy way to start talking about cancer, without it being a total downer and with early detection being your friend, we encourage everyone to get involved.
This tree is planted on Long Island New York where the cancer rate is very high.
The 2011 lighting took place on 11-12-2011 and was attended by Rich Wolowski, Theresa Irene Wolowski, Ryan Janek Wolowski, Girish Bhasin and John Erario. This years dedication was that of Cancer Recovery and we dedicated this to both Judy Wolowski and friend of the family Dorthy Phister who both were recently diagnosed with cancer. And with this early detection we are wishing them both a speedy recovery.
Talk about this with your loved ones and make sure to get checked regularly.

Press ad for Ultimate Skincare campaign launched this summer by the British Association of Dermatologists. Ultimate Skincare is the UK's first ever public health campaign devoted solely to early detection. Why? Because skin cancer is now the UK's biggest cancer - one person is diagnosed every five minutees, and one person dies every four hours. There's a 99% survival rate after five years if it's caught at an early and treatable stage - all you need to do is use our ABCDE rules to check your skin monthly and go to your GP if you spot a change in your skin.

we could scrape and burn it off but then there is no tissue left to biopsy, and then wait and see, or, just do the most effective thing....
