Un inverosímil conglomerado de construcciones medievales inverosímiles.
Un indescriptible aprovechamiento de los accidentes del terreno para construir una verdadera fortaleza defensiva inexpugnable.
Una colección exquisita de casas colgadas.
El paraíso para un fotógrafo aficionado a la arquitectura medieval.
Un pueblo enclavado en lo alto de una colina desde la que se divisa un bellísimo paisaje sobre el curso del río Ebro.
Y por si fuera poco, a unos ochocientos metros por detrás de lo que podéis observar, un puente románico de una belleza estética y de una perfección arquitectónica que no soy capaz de describir... pero que os iré mostrando en futuras imágenes.
Todo eso y mucho más lo podemos visitar en la provincia de Burgos, no muy lejos de Pancorbo y de Miranda de Ebro.
Todo eso y mucho más se llama FRÍAS, ciudad medieval.

Mi más sentido homenaje de admiración y gratitud para GLENN FREY (RIP), uno de los fundadores de Eagles, quizá mi banda musical más querida y entrañable.
The largest known wingspan from a wild female Verreaux's Eagle Owl measured nearly 164 cm (5 ft 5 in). Also commonly known as the Milky Eagle Owl, this species is widespread in sub-Saharan Africa. A member of the genus Bubo, it is the largest African owl, measuring up to 66 cm in total length.
Verreaux's Eagle Owl is mainly grey in colour and is distinguishable from other large owls by its bright pink eyelids, a feature shared with no other owl species in the world.
This nest is located in Northern Pennsylvania along the banks of the West Branch Susquehanna River, about20 miles South of the NY border. Per the locals it has been used by this pair (only one showing) for the last five years or so.

The steppe eagle is a bird of prey. Like all eagles, it belongs to the family Accipitridae. It was once considered to be closely related to the non-migratory tawny eagle and the two forms have previously been treated as conspecific
... for this eagle that was nearly to the trees ... you cannot see its fish in this pose as it was passing by as it was tucked safely there under its talons.

There is a fuzzy light spot to the lower right of the eagle's wing - that is one of the chicks. It does have a beak showing.
In a hike this morning down by the river I almost didn't notice this youngster hanging out. He/She was not too bothered by me. It took me awhile for me to get my camera out of my pack, I was afraid he would fly away, but I think he was rather curious in what I was up to. I played with this image to lighten up the background and make it monochrome. I think it intensifies his eye even more. They are such cool birds and I always feel so fortunate when I get this close to one.
