A Japanese Spider Chrysanthemum, again; a different type.

The name "chrysanthemum" is derived from the Greek words chrysos (gold) and anthemon (flower)

Chrysanthemums, sometimes called mums or chrysanths, are flowering plants of the genus Chrysanthemum in the family Asteraceae.

They are native to Asia and northeastern Europe. Most species originate from East Asia and the centre of diversity is in China.

Chrysanthemums were first cultivated in China as a flowering herb as far back as the 15th century BC.

The flower was brought to the Western World in the 17th century. There are about 40 valid species and countless horticultural varieties and cultivars.

For many years, chrysanthemum signifies praise and admiration.

A chrysanthemum is considered as a noble flower of the Chinese noble class.

The Japanese hold this flower as the symbol of the sun.

Wishing you a day full of good light and thank you for your visit, M, (*_*)

My daughter is very shy, but interested in the idea of playing with her peers. She was crawling through this tunnel maze when she saw a young girl playing at this end of the tunnel. She immediately stopped in silent observation unwilling to engage with the girl who was talking to her.

Today for Exploration Friday, I went exploring for a bit in a same called Wizardhat Studios, and it looked like a pretty nice place to travel around in, and there was an airship there as well. Where this photo was taken.

One of the Lavenham badger cubs I've had the pleasure of watching over the last few days. There are four in the litter and they always remain close to the sett. This little one is perhaps the most dominant and adventurous.

While shooting this I realized I wanted something with a Coraline feel to it. Especially the song Exploration from the soundtrack. Possibly one of my most favorite sound tracks ever.

If you were to like and/or share my Facebook page, I wouldn't be mad ;)
