The entire roll has this unique "star cluster" pattern.
I don't know why....
Centro Habana, Cuba.
• Centro Havana in Cuba with its eighteenth-and-nineteenth century architecture. With many worned buildings, but very colorful. Adjacent and between the districts of La Habana Vieja and Vedado.

I had quite a wonderful time shooting with a miniature camera. However due to the degraded nature of the film the results were all disastrous.
After sitting for decades wound tightly in a 126 canister the guide arrows bled through the gelatin film. What is interesting is they appear red 😮 on B&W film....
I would not be the one to explain this phenomenon and would direct such analog technicalities to the professionals; RandyRamshackle --AnalogBob --Experiments in Dreaming ....

This is a kina or NZ sea urchin that we found washed up on a Southland Beach, minus its spines and innards. It's quite big -probably about 12 cm in diameter and is slightly smelly.
This time I shot my Portra 160VC at 25 ASA and the result was much better!

Monarch butterflies love milkweed, but I think this one may be past its "use by" date, leaving it to the ladybug to scavenge whatever little bugs might be in there.
Alviso, California.
It's either not done enough...or way past expiration... jury is out.
Much love to Kenzie for all the help <3 And all the lovely ladies
and gentlemen at Moon Milk for letting me run around their place snapping pictures
This is one of the photos in my new book, Expired Vol. 4. It was taken on Ansco Versapan, which expired in May of 1964. The book also contains the entries from my travel journal. If you'd like a copy, that's easily arranged. This is the entry for this photo:
Day Thirteen - July 12
Napoleon, North Dakota
Sometimes there are travel days when nothing specifically amazing happens, but everything is just kind of perfect. That was today, from start to end.
Good days are not necessarily rare on the road, but days like today, when everything went right, make the bad days worth it.
From morning till evening, the weather was outstanding. It was cool, the clouds were fluffy and abundant (though it was not "cloudy" by any stretch).
It was breezy without being windy - adding a bit of motion to an otherwise still image. This hopefully shows through in my longer exposures. I love to show the movements of nature - it's always in motion - and a bit of a breeze helps to represent that in a photo.
I found some unique spots; and found others where I could challenge myself to do something different.
For lunch, I found a beautiful lakeside park all to myself. It even had a small hand pump for water.
There were no photographic mishaps. No breakdowns. No one hassled me. Everything just worked.
I was even able to shoot two shots for this project.
The first was of a falling apart church that I've wanted to shoot for years now. The second was of a school I had visited once before but had forgotten about.
For the night, I'm in a small town park in North Dakota. It has showers, and though I didn't feel overly unwashed, I find it impossible to say "no" to a free bath.
I hope tomorrow runs just as smoothly.
