I combined a shot of these weeds with a photographic light painting I made.

This is an experimental shot taken with the camera my wife Keiko (k_keiko) bought the other day. Though I could not handle the cameral well I enjoyed taking photos. I could not have taken shot of this dragonfly which were far away with my compact digital camera.

It rained at last here. In spite of this weather dragonflies were flying energetically.

This was a little experiment I did last night that didn't go quite to plan because a long exposure and a hand-held torch are not a good combination, plus I kept drinking the wine :)

Here is the 1950 Nash Experimental International (NXI), said to be later developed into the Nash Metropolitan.

Nash-Kelvinator Chairman George Mason is in the driver's seat; company Vice President (and later Michigan Governor) George Romney is the passenger.

Apparently to save production costs (and sales price): the front and rear bumpers were the same (the cutout for the grille was the insertion place for the spare tire in the rear; no trunk lid; no side windows (plastic curtains).

I've noticed that Nash models from the early 1950s had the rear tire almost completely shrouded. Changing out a flat must have been fun.

A listed building within Gunners Park, Shoeburyness, Essex. This area is steeped in military heritage being on the site of a former garrison and gun ranges from the Victorian era. The Experimental Casemates here date from 1872 / 1873. They could house 12" and 12.5" weapons to be test fired over the extensive mudflats along the northern shoreline of the Thames Estuary.

This photo was taken at the Lowe Master Gardener Experimental Plot site, early last summer. Unusual place, with some interesting individual blossoms. And a Lily Pond filled with dragonflies. Neat place, and I'll be visiting again this year...in the next several weeks or so.

Shot with 200mm macro lens, hand held, in pretty weird light. An interesting blossom, certainly.

experimental

If you look inside the cockpit you can see the word experimental written in there !! Sean Tucker one of the best ever.

Photo prise de nuit depuis le bus sur la route de Grasse, mélange de reflets sur les vitres et de lumières extérieures et bien sûr photoshop et Nik.

Photo taken at night from the bus on the road to Grasse, mixture of reflections on the windows and outdoor lights and of course photoshop and Nik.

This picture SOOC was not terribly interesting. A little more interesting in monochrome. Just a tad more interesting when I slammed the sliders.

Still "experimental."

I'm gonna start calling the crappier pictures I foist on you as "experimental." You can just feel the art flowing over you, can't you.

Started as a minimalist sketch, but it was a bit TOO minimalist, so I kept fiddling with it. Sometimes a failed experiment ends up looking better than it should. I probably won’t fold this again, but the half-open quality is intriguing.

Week 22 / Long Exposure

52 Weeks of Pix

Experimented with a long exposure app on my Iphone.

X-1 aircraft #46-062, "6062", flown by Captain Chuck Yeager, was the first piloted airplane to exceed the speed of sound in level flight. Yeager named the plane "Glamorous Glennis" after his wife, as he had named his P-51 Mustang in WWII. The overall orange color was used for the first supersonic flight.
