Like the northern lights I completely missed out on the rare appearance of snow down here this week. North Dorset, Wiltshire and even Weston got a dumping but nothing whatsoever on the South Coast.
Still what can beat seeing snow covered mountains? Taken handheld with my 200mm lens which has been repaired (after I slipped on ice and dropped it). I was £500 lighter but I'm getting it back through my home insurance and it's like a new lens. Result!
I bet North Wales is even more beautiful this week but its maybe unlikely I'd be able to get around.
Have a lovely weekend x
Even after a restless night of sleep I was glad I didn't miss this short-lived glow signifying peace and hope which I never take for granted for It is a chance to reset. I will always be that girl who gets excited when the sky turns pretty colours and awakens the earth of its slumber.

"Even angels are not spared from pain. Some wounds are carried in silence, some bleed through the soul. Yet, within every shadow of sorrow, there is light in the arms that hold us, the presence that whispers we are not alone.
This is not a story told in beginnings or endings, but in the stillness between heartbeats, where beauty rests even when the world seems undone. A glimpse of eternity, captured in feathers and breath.
To be held in our most fragile moments is the purest form of strength. Even in silence, even in ache, the spirit remembers how to heal."

HAPPY YEAR 2022 ! - With so little to go until a year ends, which was terrible for many of us. It is appropriate to thank the people who were aware of how I was, and even protected me and kept me in SL. To all the new and old friends, forever darling. I also want to thank my sponsors, who were so important and trusted me, giving me the most precious of them, their creations. Some even gave me the honor of being Blogger of the Month. I wish you all a new year loaded with much health, tranquility, hope, justice and much love to pour into this world, which is sorely needed.
WSOR T4 rolls thru Ackerville siding after getting on the CN Waukesha Subdivision at Slinger with 2 GP38-2s, an SD40-2, and 3 SD60Ms for power. This was a massive T4 for Saturday, while also being a chilly November morning as well.

Even if the peak period of lentils flowering in Castelluccio di Norcia has now passed, it is still a spectacle even now!
Even my little friend here is a bit damp today as you can see from the drops on her whiskers and her wet tail. I told Mike he should put an umbrella up over the feeding station for her and her feathered friends. I got a "look". LOL
I may not always get to thank you for every fave or reply to a comment that you might leave here on my image but, just know each comment is read and very much appreciated.

Even on a stone, three years.
The Japanese proverb "Ishi no ue nimo San nen" translates to "Even on a stone, three years." This proverb conveys the idea that with perseverance and patience, even the most difficult tasks can be accomplished.
Even on the path to the house there were photos for the taking. As the out buildings crumble around it, the old house remained.

We all encounter moments of self-doubt
We will hold loneliness by its hand and dance on its toes.
We will stare at the ceiling unnecessarily for hours
before finally falling asleep.
If sleeping at all...
We will clothe ourselves in sadness, and we will feel its weight bearing down upon our shoulders.
We may spend days, weeks, years even, yearning for a breakthrough...
But one day, we will release the loneliness from between our fingertips, and we will slip off the heaviness as gracefully as the trees shed their foliage on a colorful autumn day.
And instead of mourning what we've lost, we will rejoice for all of the space we've created to allow something more beautiful to take its place.
And that isn't to say we won't still feel the harshness of a brisk winter. We were never promised a life without suffering.
But one day, a bud will spring forth to remind us what it feels like to flourish and even the sun herself will envy our light.

Even a 2000th of a sec. exposure wasn't fast enough to freeze this Siskin's wings...but that's all I could do on a dark rainy day. I'm going to keep trying until I hit it.
The hawk probably hit the pigeon in our garden, because there were several longer white-grey feathers on the ground. In the end, however, it did not feel comfortable on the tree, because crows and pigeons were constantly circling above and around it - at the proper distance, of course - trying to scare the hawk away, even by squawking.
This photo of the Chribska waterfall in Bohemian Switzerland is not current. It wasn't even made in the fall but in February of last year.
Luckily you can't tell from the scene and so I can easily incorporate it into the autumn pictures.
The two-stage waterfall is not particularly spectacular with a total height of only around 3 meters. Instead, it is a small but beautiful piece of jewelry here in the middle of the forest.
Maybe I'll drive by there again in the next few days and see what else can be photographed here.
I think it's nice to take photos from the past from time to time. This reminds me of the beautiful places I have already been and inspires me to visit some of them again.

Please press "Z" :)
A very unusual (for me) MM contribution in quite a few ways, because it is a photo that I have neither taken at home nor specifically for the "dutch angle" theme – this fluffy feather was a chance discovery at last Wednesday's (fabuloutastic, I should add) photowalk at the Olympic stadium; I didn't even think about the theme when I found this pretty feather in a corner of a step of one of the many, many staircases there. And of course this isn't the photo from that walk that I'd planned to upload first, either ;-). But often things don't turn out as expected (something which happens a lot lately when it comes to MMs), and that's not always a bad thing.
This small feather, about 6 cm / 2,3 inches long, came to my rescue when my original idea didn't work out – which every way I tried to make it work (it was a small spoke reflector which I'd once found in the street; the idea was to capture its distorted reflection which made it look like a flowing piece of honeycomb, something that came to my mind because of the reflector's honeycombed structure; well, to make it short, I never managed to get the distorted reflection sharp enough so it would be pleasant to look at; maybe I can still make it work later... I also tried to magnify those honecomb patterns inside of the reflector by using the extension tubes and the Raynox DCR-250 close-up lens – but, no, it wasn't meant to work).
But back to my "Olympic feather": Most conveniently, I had already taken it at a dutch angle (Mr Freud, can you hear me?). It is a single handheld picture taken with the Ricoh (the GRIII rocks!) which I've sharpened in Topaz Sharpen AI, and then further processed it in Nik's HDR Efex Pro – I started with the "En Vogue" preset "Cool Deep" which I'd then still tweaked a little here or there. And because the staircase I'd found this feather on had been in a shadowy corner of the stadium (and the feather in an even more shadowy corner of the step), the DNG outcome was rather dull; to add some much needed light I went into ON1 where I added a "Sunflare" texture filter to the upper left corner of the image; back in LR I added the preset "Soft Fog" and tweaked the luminosity and saturation sliders for a dreamy look.
HMM, Everyone, stay safe and healthy!

The mimosa (Mimosa pudica), also called the shameful sense plant, Even if it seems naturally attractive, you should not touch the mimosa too often, because it is an effort for the plant to move its leaves every time.
