A low angle, fairly close shot with my 70-200 lens, produced an extreme shallow depth of field around this stem of Barley.

This week's theme for the Grove Art Centre photo club is city scene. I don't particularly like city scenes but Ethereal City is very pretty.

Golden hour with ethereal reflection in the sea.

Inle Lake in Myanmar is probably the one place I have seen in person where every scene is a photograph.

The salt water lake is immense, the light enthralling, the reflections are endless and the mood is one of another world. When I look at my pictures, I still can't believe that I was there and that I captured its magic. I've saved some of the best ones for last so tune in a couple of years from now.

I just loved the light when I was shooting this one, I remember it clearly, there was a feeling of serenety while ethereal too. The light on the West Coast of Scotland is certainly unique in how it forms and presents colours in ways you never see anywhere else, This is one of my favourite shots of the last couple of years, I hope you like it too.

Light, brings new day...

our reality

I think.

i saw the lights in the distance.. my vision blurred and a song like voice rang in my mind.. was i imagining this?

The twisty-turny curls left clinging to the branches against the bare branches of winter and the mist of a foggy, rainy day create an ethereal image. Found in the Schloss park in Bad Homburg.

Large areas of The Wirral, North Wales and Cheshire were covered in a swathe of fog yesterday. I initially went to Helsby Hill to see if I could get above the fog and shoot Stanlow. The fog began to clear the higher I got but it was still a good hour before sunrise and it was freezing up on Helsby Hill so I ended up back at The National Waterways Museum looking back to Innospec/Stanlow. When I arrived I couldn't see anything so instead of getting a coffee from McDonalds I made one in the van. When I looked back the fog had lifted briefly. Five minutes later and it was back to blanket fog.

I ended up at New Brighton as it began to get light and could see the bank of fog slowly creeping up The Mersey before covering Liverpool with just the tallest of buildings poking out. After a couple of weeks off it was good to be out again on a morning where I saw my usual spots looking completely different to how they normally do.

Mother Nature enjoys herself these days

So do I

I love this place

It's so peaceful

The straws have changed completely into silver

It was such a thrill when I discovered that
