I keep pressing the Esc button on my keyboard but nothing seems to happen

Today was super fun, I did some shopping and finally bought a lock for my door! All that remains is for me to get out a screwdriver and figure out of the hell I'm going to get the damn thing on there.

I'm not so keen on this because this concept has been done so many times, but the other idea I had went kind of wrong because my arms aren't long enough, so I'll save that until my love can help me out with it!!

This is a small part of my city. In the background is a construction site for the expansion of the city. The buildings are under construction. The completion date is still open, because I'm missing some bricks.
