Face in the sand

Everybody's waiting for something to happen

Everybody's waiting for something to see

Lunatics waiting for bigger disasters

Everyone's waiting for news on TV

Winding lives at the end of the spiral

Waiting dictators with their next big thrill

Everyone's looking, but no one is listening

Everybody wants to be in at the kill

I wait for the signs, they tell me true

I see the signs of the end of time

Everyone's searching, but nothing's revealing

Everyone's looking for the reason why

Everyone's hoping for life everafter

Everyone's looking at death from the sky

Everyone's nightmares are going to happen

Everybody's ripping the mask from their eyes

Everyone's praying but no one's believing

Everyone's heroes tell everyone's lies

I wait for the signs, they tell me true

I see the signs of the end

So I watch and I wait

And I pray for an answer

An end to the strife and the world's misery

But the end never came

And we're digging the graves

And we're loading the guns for the kill

Can the end be at hand?

Is the face in the sand

Future memory of our tragedy?

Can the end be at hand?

Is the face in the sand

Future memory of our tragedy?

I fight for peace

Continuing the unofficial Rock island theme I seem to have stumbled into...

In its short life, this railroad has already been captured from every possible angle above ground level. That being said, there was no way I was going to pass up a chance to grab my own shots; it's simply too far from home for my typical day trips. Thus, after a Thursday afternoon on the Fordyce & Princeton in Arkansas, I worked my way east to Cleveland, MS, and drove the remaining 45 minutes early the next morning.

The Mississippi Delta Railroad's two Rock-painted geeps sun themselves on a quiet Friday morning in Sumner, Mississippi. From the railroad's website: "The Mississippi Delta Railroad, MSDR, based in Sumner, MS, operates a total of 85 miles of track in Northwest MS from a connection with the Canadian National Railway at Swan Lake, MS." Unfortunately, the railroad didn't turn a wheel - except for a hi-rail truck - but it was worth a stop to get these while still clean and fresh. Just had to wait a couple hours for the shadows to recede a bit. Note NS (ex-SOU) MoW caboose #500000 behind the power, across the street.

A fitting end to my 2020 tour, because the first clouds I had seen all week started to roll in later in the morning and this was pretty much the end of it all.

A stormy sky set the sunset moments quite differently and I loved the calmness and peace of the environment.....taken at Chidiyatapu beach in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India

Standing at land's end watching the waves crash ashore. On this evening, land's end was at rugged Irish Beach in Mendocino County. It tends to move around, depending on where I happen to be.

end of the day for odc

I think tulips get even more beautiful as they start to shrivel - HBW!

They're just suggestions!

NS local C46 out of Norfolk Southern's Pitcairn Yard and intermodal terminal sits amongst the shining gold ginkgo (pronounced ging-kho) trees that line both sides of the 4 track trench. They are stopped waiting on a signal at CP-PENN to proceed into Island Avenue yard to make their set outs and pick ups to take back to Pitcairn with them. On the east end of the train was 1 of the 2 pairs of NS GP33ECO's that are assigned to the Pittsburgh area to improve air quality and reduce emissions.

These trees are just a small part of Pittsburgh's beautiful Allegheny Commons Park West that is located just a block or 2 away from both the Pittsburgh Pirate's PNC Park and the Pittsburgh Steelers Heinz Field. Traditonally these leaves are always some of the last, if not the very last in the city to change before the winter arrives.

Oddly enough this year, they are not despite reaching their prime peak about 2 weeks later than usual. Some parts of the city still actually have green leaves on the trees as of November 23rd...and it's 1 day until Thanksgiving! Absolutely insanity. I've never seen anything like this before.

Northern Outer Banks at Southern Shores. Thanks for the look and have a great evening.

The end of an adventure to the States and back to see great people and shoot epic locations. This is the las night all alone camping in Doswallips State Park. I will probably write more about this trip later.

Cloudy skies and monsoon rains herald the end of summer and the beginning of the rainy season in the Philippines. For us it's also the start of the waterfall season. This is Nonok Falls in Real, Quezon province.

This morning's blue and golden hours were something special, it's definitely feeling more autumnal early in the day now.

Ali my sweet lil devil (and just I call her that!) thank you for being a true light and an explosion of love in my life.

Love you babeboo and had a blast. Mwahs and tons of squishes and love ♥♥

It was really good to explore the maze-like streets of the medina of Chefchaouen within its old city walls. Would have taken even more pics had it not rained the whole afternoon.

Another beautiful day comes to a close over the Straits of Mackinac.

These people have a light-hearted take on their location. Is it the wrong end of town? If no one has bothered to pick up that Christmas tree yet and have a bit of a sweep up, it probably is, but good luck to them.

London Road, Dover.

Good to see someone trying to make a go of it.
