When this shot was taken, the last MER service from Ramsey was about 4.20 in the afternoon. However, on Friday nights a late night special ran from Ramsey at about 10.20. This gave me a chance of getting an MER shot after dark in the summer months.
This is the new Ramsey Terminus as well. The old one with the more interesting trackwork is beyond the stops and fence in the car park, right of picture, the other side of the road. Car 19, wearing the old 'Tramway' livery is a couple of minutes from leaving, bound for Douglas.
The end of the promenade past the ferry port. You can walk over the rocks, if you don't have a wonky knee. :0(
Much better viewed large.

(gets, looks, seems, is) there is an end to it, this too shall pass. The tangled mess of copper wire badly focused but the end comes out in focus.

Flickr Friday Theme : End of the line
So long to all the leaves - Leaf up day is Monday !
Guess who will be raking this weekend !
Sometimes in life an individual can become lost within themselves. Because of substance and alcohol abuse alienating your wife and children.
It can go on for years.
You may have the equipment, resources and ability to build a new road forward but the next thing you know.... you have run out of gas All alone in a field with nowhere to go.
One place left to go and the only option. Fade to black. With some hope maybe a new path lays beyond this world.
There is no way to tell what things might change someone.
The metaphor is so very large here.
No one has to guess this one. It is personal for me and someone I used to know.

End of the Line
This 1949 Ford Tudor Deluxe represents the fruit of the workers’ labour depicted in Generations. It rolls off the line to join the more than three million vehicles built at Ford’s Windsor assembly plant between 1904 and 1954.

Just as the sun was about to set, I caught these two Metra F40's diesel locomotives sitting on a siding, waiting for the weekday rush to begin again.
Happy Flickr Friday-End Of The Line
At the end of this branch is also the end of the line for these Maple Leaves. They are going to fall off the tree and shrivel up on the ground.

Managed to sneak in last week as they began the task of tuning a place free for the many into a economic ghetto for the few.
After a working life of over 80 years, some 30 or so on the Isle of Wight, all remaining class 483`s are now retired. A look back to August 2020 sees 483006 arriving at Shanklin, the southern terminus of the Islands line.
I have to say I am really pleased with this shot. I took this as I left the station after a long day out walking in London. The station seemed deserted and its the end of the line, it had a real eerie feel to it as the sun was going down, I hope I managed to capture it a little.
I think this music fits perfectly, hope you do to.

We've got quite a few Willow Herb flowers coming up which is lovely, other than the gardeners are due to come round any day now to strim the grass, so I'll loose them.
Saw this raindrop on the end of the stem and just had to take a photo.
It was this photo or the Prunella Vulgaris for today and not an easy choice, other than I thought a bit of colour would be nice.
Thank you for your favourites. :O)
I painted the green one last weekend in the rain and the red one this weekend with no one around in the sun.

110-Year-Old Decaying Bridge to Nowhere
The Florida Keys U.S.A. - March 21st, 2022

Bear with me. I felt compelled to do a series of shots of my favorite bridge in the world, with her magnificent colors of water and sky. I visit only once a year (for 48 straight years), and every time there is nobody here, leaving her and her ruins lonely and forgotten. I will never forget her beauty, or Henry Flagler. Thank you for looking.
The Bahia Honda Rail Bridge is a disused bridge in the lower Florida Keys connecting Bahia Honda Key with Spanish Harbor Key. Originally part of the Overseas Railway, the State of Florida purchased it after the 1935 Labor Day Hurricane and converted it to provide automobile use as part of the Overseas Highway in 1938. After a replacement Bahia Honda Bridge was opened in 1972, two spans of the bridge were removed (in the 80's) to accommodate boat traffic and make the majority of the bridge inaccessible to pedestrian traffic, but the rest remain standing. Red bridge-rust.
It was originally built by Henry Flagler as part of the Overseas Railroad which was completed in 1912. Flagler funded the construction of the bridge, along with the rest of the railway himself. It was purchased by the state of Florida and converted for highway use in 1938 after the Labor Day Hurricane of 1935. Rather than completely rebuilding the bridge after the hurricane, the existing structure was repaired and the deck for the Overseas Highway was added on top, as the existing deck inside the truss was too narrow for vehicular traffic. The bridge served as the primary mode of transport to the islands of the lower Keys, and as a primary evacuation route for many years, before its closing.
A new four-lane bridge was built in 1980, a few hundred yards north of the old bridge, replacing the old route of U.S. 1. Today, the former bridge provides a scenic overview of the area for tourists. Two of the truss spans have been removed in order to facilitate boat traffic, as the new bridge has an increased span height. The original bridge has fallen into a state of disrepair and signs have been posted on the bridge warning boat traffic to watch for falling debris, but all of the sections have remained standing (not counting the two that were removed). The easternmost section remains open to pedestrian traffic and is maintained by Bahia Honda State Park. Bahia Honda Rail Bridge ~ Spanish Harbor Key ~ Lower Keys

The last two Leica clones from a line that originated with Nicca before they were bought out by Yashica. The YE in the foreground is an improved version of a Leica IIIf based on the Nicca 33, while the YF in the background is a mishmash of features gleaned from Leica IIIf and M3 models that were used on the Nicca 3L
Improvements on the YE include: Consecutive speeds on the Slow Speed dial (though they only go down to 1/2 second); Lever winding; and a better Viewfinder/Rangefinder.
The YF looks and handles like an M3, with a view/rangefinder that is equivalent to a 35mm FOV with parallax corrected fixed bright lines for 50mm and 100mm; a film loading Back Door for bottom loading; and a single stroke Winder Lever that is mounted below the top cover of the camera. The lens mount is LTM (L39, M39).
These were also the last two interchangeable lens 35mm rangefinder cameras produced by Yashica which decided they didn't want to participate in the high-end camera market, catering instead to the consumers who didn't need all the features of the YE and YF.
Info on the entire Nicca line of rangefinder cameras: www.canonrangefinder.org/Nicca_Cameras.htm
It's taken me a while to get this pair together. I had the Yashikor lens that came on a different camera, and the YF body, but they were not a match as the Yashikor 50/2.8 came standard on the YE, and the YF had the Yashinon 50/1.8 (later the Super-Yashinon, a change in name only for marketing purposes). I'd like to say they are ready to go now but the YF has a busted shutter curtain. Now that I have the proper lens for it, I am incentivized to send it off for repairs.
