Endeavoring to improve this image along with showing what can be done with the Fuji-X cameras. I re-shot this photo using the averaging meter putting high lights in zone 7 [+2 exposure] and processed as a in camera jpeg where I softened the highlights & shadows by -1, then softened the clarity in camera raw for the final low key image..

I was watching Mom and Dad Cardinal feed their offspring in our bird feeder when she decided it was time to leave. The shutter wasn't fast and she moved out of the focus area so she is blurry but I kind of like it so I decided to post it. Let's call it an "Artistic Endeavor".

In this image of the Shuttle Endeavor approaching ISS in 2010 we can see the Troposphere (Orange), the Statosphere (White), and the Mesosphere (Blue) from the light of the sun. The next two layers out are the Thermosphere and Exosphere. Bubble-net feeding is a complicated, highly synchronized effort that shows high biological intelligence. One whale usually leads the endeavor, diving deep then rising up to the surface. From deep below, it'll begin to blow air to create bubbles. It confuses and traps the fish above. Then, the rest of the team follows, creating a cumulative fence around the prey, like a corral. The whales then gather inside the bubble-net and rise to the surface, mouths wide open.

I knew I needed to be on the south side of the bridge for the best light. I then searched around for an hour for a suitable foreground. I liked the lines of the roadway, the counter balance of the boat under the bridge. I'm very happy with the finished product.

The Space Shuttle Endeavor as she was flying over the site on her way to her final home at the California Science Center in Exposition Park, Los Angeles California.

Yeah, there's some banding in the sky, remember this was 2012 and long before I had an idea of what I was doing!

This was our home away from home for seven days in the Galapagos Islands. The Endeavor is an expedition-type, research ship which has plied the waters from the Arctic to the Antarctic. At 295 feet long, with accommodations for 96 guests, she was the base of operations from which the Zodiacs (or pangas - tough, inflatable boats with outboard motors) zipped us back and forth to the islands for hiking or to snorkeling sites. The crew was genial and experienced, the food excellent, and being rocked to sleep at night by the ocean swells was a charming bonus! Texture by Spektoral Addendum.

Just watched the shuttle landing on-line and still get a thrill whenever I see it.

This is the last flight of the Space Shuttle Endeavor as she passed over the site I was working at.

The site I was working on at the time provided voice and video for the majority of all shuttle missions.
