Empty benches ,,, empty park right in the city center as downtown as it can be ,,, times have changed ,, it is this new modern time.
I had to go out today to see how it looks like in my hometown Cologne.
It's scary to see almost no people on the street in a big City with one Million citizens.
The empty train station, the square in front of the cathedral, where tourist crowds usually take their selfies ... just a few.
The street cafes are closed ......
I went back home

Berlin, as perhaps many large cities, can create especially in winter a certain kind of surreality and melancholy. I tried to capture this feeling in both image and music.

It must be frustrating to fly overhead searching for a snail, hover to find one, maneuver, slide into the water, pick it up, fly away, look and..............emptyl!! Dang it! Discard and try again!

IC 6256, 6260, & 6264 lead U71781 24 south along Center Line Rd, just south of Burnett, MN. I'm fairly certain this was a Fairlane train (I really should start taking notes while in the field), but I don't know why the train was half empty. If anyone knows anything, I'd be more than happy to get some clarity. Taken on the CN Missabe Subdivision on 3/24/22.

The courtyard, or perhaps an atrium, stands empty. The columns reach upward but no longer have anything to support. In Pompeii “the upper classes mainly lived in domus, large houses sometimes covering an area of about 3,000 sq. m. The domus were usually based on the same main structure. The front door led into the atrium, a large central hall open at the roof. Around the atrium the other rooms of the house were located: the bedrooms (cubicula), the servants’ quarters, the dining rooms (triclinia) and living rooms.” In AD 79, over the course of two days, the lives of the wealthy and the common people changed forever. Mount Vesuvius revealed itself as a volcano, not as a peaceful mountain as the people thought. Up until that time, there was no word for “volcano”….
Evening, exhausted after 2 hours of running around and taking pictures of rally cars, so rested on the bridge by tacking picture of empty street.
