Empire Theatre in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. I liked the Art Deco look of the theatre & the big palm tree outside, it looked like something that from Las Vegas! I thought it did anyway!

NYPD decided to give me a nice photo opportunity about 15 minutes after I'd bought the lens!

Empire Theatre, Liverpool. Designed by W & T R Milburn and built on the site of an earlier theatre, the Empire opened in 1925. Heavily influenced by American theatre design, it seats over 2,300 on two levels, the wide auditorium utilising a saucer rake whereby the ends of the long rows are raised. The stage was extended in 1980, and a new bar and box office added in 1998. Grade 2 listed.

I was actually down in Empire Ranch taking senior photos for my daughter. As soon as we were finishing up the sky just blew up with color everywhere. This is one of my favorite barns on the property. The ranch dates back to 1871. It has several buildings and is nestled along a dry riverbed with many large cottonwoods and surrounded by rolling grasslands. Although it looks like an area in the Midwest, it is actually found in southeast Arizona near the small town of Sonoita, just south of Tucson.

I was at the New Haven Camera Club in Connecticut on Monday giving a presentation on my astrophotography, so I figured if I was going down that close to New York City I might as well make a weekend of it and visit the city for a few days. I didn't want to carry around a ton of camera weight so I brought my Sony A6000 mirrorless camera and a bunch of lenses that fit in a small bag, and a lightweight almost-full height tripod. I hadn't been to New York City in over 10 years, and this was the first time I was there as a real photographer.

This shot is from the Top of the Rock, the observation deck at Rockefeller Center. This is looking downtown towards the Empire State Building. One World Trade Center is visible to the right of the Empire, and if you look really close you'll see the Statue of Liberty in the mouth of the Hudson River to the right of One World Trade Center. We went up for sunset and stayed until after dark. All three observation decks were mobbed, it was an insane experience being with a zillion people outside on the top of a skyscaper. They don't allow tripods on the property so it took a lot of patience to wait for a spot on the edge to open up so I could set my camera down on the wall to get a steady shot in low light. If you're going, I'd suggest not going on the evening of Mother's Day, and bring a Gorillapod or other small tripod or a clamp style tripod. I didn't think to bring my Gorillapod.

A close up of the lighting on the Empire State Building tower.

This was taken from the Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Plaza on September 9th, my camera was still set on U.K. time so it recorded the date as the 10th.

The tower was hired for a private lighting on this evening.

Breathtaking view from the 86th floor observation deck of the Empire State Building. Visibility wasn't great that day, a black and white version of the shot kind of fixes this. The original image was mostly gray anyways.

View from street level. Photo taken with an analog camera, handheld, no IS, on ISO 200 negative film.

Empire Point was originally a part of 385-acre Spanish land grant to Reuben Hogans in 1808. Hogans' land stretched along the southbank of the St. Johns River between Millers Creek and the Arlington River (called Pottsburg Creek before the Civil War). Across the river, a 605-acre land grant given to his son, John Hogans, eventually became today's downtown Jacksonville.

The most intriguing feature of the Marabanong estate is the wine cellar built into the bluff. It is believe that this structure dates back to 1840. At that time, it was envisioned that the land would be used to produce wine and the celler was constructed for storage.

On one of the world's largest natural harbors,[12] New York City consists of five boroughs, each of which is a county of New York State.[13] The five boroughs—the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island—were consolidated into a single city in 1898.[14] With a census-estimated 2013 population of 8,405,837[4] distributed over a land area of just 305 square miles (790 km2),[15] New York is the most densely populated major city in the United States.[16] As many as 800 languages are spoken in New York,[17][18] making it the most linguistically diverse city in the world.[19] By 2013 census estimates, the New York Metropolitan Area's population remains by a significant margin the United States' largest Metropolitan Statistical Area, with approximately 19.9 million people,[20] and is also part of the most populous Combined Statistical Area in the United States, containing an estimated 23.4 million people.
