A spruce (I think) tree near Dunvegan on the Isle of Skye sending up hundreds of new cones, their black/purple contrasting with the bright green of the needles.

spring comes slowly in wisconsin. first the snow melts and grass emerges. then we wait. and wait. (and wait.) it’s a beautiful practice in patience.
