A chestnut emerges from its casing split open by the fall from the tree. Bandings around the nut give it the look of weed grain ..

Taken a couple of weeks ago. They are now in full bloom and getting battered by the wind and rain.

This little wildflower was growing out of a crack in stone.

It took more than coffee grounds to turn the blossoms on our hydrangea from pink to blue: applications of camellia and rhododendron soil plus fertilizer for acid loving plants.

Happy Thursday! Take care and stay safe. Thanks for stopping by and for all of your support -- I deeply appreciate it.

Out of the shadows! A golden hour Cedar Waxwing!! First one of the year. Love to watch them flock feed.

Every moment is a fresh beginning.

90 minutes after first shot, slowly the wings begin to spread

This is the first time I have been able to cross the river to photograph this waterfall as the river levels are usually too high and the river running too fast. This is the point where the River Cur emerges from a gorge at the foot of a larger waterfall (just out of sight, and photographed by me earlier

The Tonnara di Scopello dates back to 1200 and is one of the oldest in Sicily. The activity continued until 1984 and every year, on average, about 500 tuna were caught.

The tonnara rises in a magical inlet, framed by steep cliffs and bathed by clear waters. The stacks emerge from the sea a few meters from the shore and make this small gulf even more fascinating.

The tonnara is located in Sicily, in the western part, in the locality of Scopello.

Scopello is a small fraction of the Municipality of Castellammare del Golfo, in the province of Trapani, which has about 400 inhabitants.

Its true....the sun does eventually shine and that fog burns off. This is the view from the back of my office overlooking St. John's Harbour and of course, Signal Hill.

No more fog pictures now....I hope! :-) Moving on to bright and sunny. Everyone cross their fingers for me!!!

Even though I wasn't emerging from gorse, I just love this title by Half Man Half Biscuit, and I was emerging from mist and cloud on my way back down to the tent. It's always worth an early start, to have these dramatic places to one's self, well almost. The hidden valley in the photo is a magical place too, that hardly anyone ever ventures to.

Good morning everyone and hope a great weekend was had by all.

It is getting a little slow here now but we still have the local fare and if your patient enough sometimes you will get an image or two, albeit of the same species but a little different, and hope your not bored.

Have a great day everyone and thank you for stopping by to say hi.
