When I see such characterful features in nature, I see the world as a beautiful place of limitless potential and I realise that I'm happily in touch with my child self. A good feeling.

The spoonbills were in high breeding season and putting on quite the show.

The relentless flow,

as time ushers life forward,

find your spot and grow.

Sometimes it seems that the seconds of our lives flow like water cascading over rocky cliffs during a torrential downpour. Slow those waters down, root yourself and embrace the flow. While exploring Twin Falls at Rock Island, it was nice to focus in close on the flowing water of the cascading waterfall and picking out interesting details. Wishing everyone a great day ahead. A photo I took on a walk trough the forest here in Zürich during heavy snowing. I liked how those two trees looked a bit like they were hugging each other in the snow, while the thinner one still has some orange leaves, giving the image some colour as it is otherwise rather desaturated. If you zoom in you can also see all the snow that was blown into the image from the right by a bit of wind.

Theme: Nothing in Focus.

Taken with my new Lensbaby Velvet 56 lens and... it's in silver to go with my Nikon DF which is black and silver. They look beautiful together. It's been on order a while now so I was so excited to take delivery on Thursday. This happened to be my very first image with this new lens. Quite fitting for todays theme.

I knew it was gonna be a different and arty lens. I quite like a manual lens (I have two Helios, a Nikkor f1.2 and a Lensbaby twist) but I was quite shocked at the effect, it really has a wow factor, the images are beautiful but, I must learn to accept that its not a focussing lens per sea and I must go with the flow and let my real arty side come out and not worry that its not perfect but dreamy instead.
