“There are times when I just want to look at your face
With the stars in the night
There are times when I just want to feel your embrace
In the cold night,…”

Another in the moment series from my favourite part of Hillock Wood, where wide spaced conifers bath in a sea of ferns. I was captivated by the embracing touch of the young sapling as it wraps itself around the trunk of the conifer. The mist of course adds that touch of softness.
Tower in the Tejo River, evocative of portuguese Discovery Era.
Lisbon, Portugal
........................................................................................................................................
Belém Tower (in Portuguese Language: Torre de Belém) is really called Tower of St Vincent. It is a fortified tower located at Belém quarter in Lisbon, Portugal.
It is an UNESCO World Heritage Site (along with the nearby Jerónimos Monastery) because of the significant role this part of the city played in the Portuguese maritime era of discovery, or Age of Discoveries.
The tower was commissioned by King John II to be both part of a defense system at the mouth of the estuario of Tagus River and a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon as well. The tower was build between 1515 and 1521 by project and leaderance of the military architect Francisco de Arruda.
The tower was built in XV century and is a prominent example of the Portuguese Manueline architecturial style, but it also incorporates hints of other architectural styles.
The structure was built from lioz limestone and is composed of a bastion and the 30 meter (100 feet), four story tower. It has incorrectly been stated that the tower was built in the middle of the Tagus and now sits near the shore because the river was redirected after the 1755 Lisbon earthquake. In fact, the tower was built on a small island in the Tagus River near the Lisbon shore, wich island is no more island and it is mixed with the sands of the right shore of the city.

Wonderful wispy clouds greeted me as i walked down to the beach. They were a bit chaotic, and changing all the while. I liked the embrace of the cliffs with the arms of cloud, so Embrace the chaos by Ozomatli is perfect.
A very early start this morning where I met up with another Dorset based photographer to shoot some of the wild garlic out in the beautiful Purbecks.
The wood was insanely gorgeous full to the brim with these white flowers. We did get some nice light initially but it did get harsh quite quickly so it was quite a challenge trying to nail a decent composition and to do the scene justice before it got too bright.
The first time I have really stayed local for the bluebells and done early morning shoots and first time shooting garlic too. I am looking forward to doing it all again next year!

Sometimes we see what we want to see.
I had originally taken this photo on my Canon DSLR, and have always wanted to make a darkroom print. But since it was a digital photo I never managed. I recently discovered that first call photographic in the UK run a service where they will put digital images onto 35mm film which you can develop to your liking.

Love is forgiving, accepting, moving on, embracing, and all-encompassing. And if you’re not doing that for yourself, you cannot do that with anyone else.
