Amtrak train 174 (17) climbs the Hell Gate Bridge approach with both an electric and a diesel locomotive on the front. P42 (GE, 1992-2001) number 6 is pulling the train, with ACS-64 number 635 (Siemens, 2012-2016) acting as a cab car (note the pantographs are down). Amtrak ran a few trains with this locomotive arrangement on Thursday, after winter storm Gail dropped large amounts of snow on the Northeast.

Thirty-two years ago, in 1993, Southern Electric provided four of these Optare Electric Metrorider buses. They placed the Oxford Bus Company at the forefront of the technology of the day. With a subsidy from Oxfordshire County Council they provided a service from Oxford Station to the Science Area.
Buses were re-charged at the station and at the depot. But the buses were not reliable, and when the subsidy was discontinued in 1999 the service ended and the buses went to Jersey.
1993 registered Optare Electric Metrorider, L801 HJO, is preserved at Oxford Bus Museum.

"Electric Sedona:" Thunderstorms in Sedona are truly like nowhere else, not only for the visual experience with all the beautiful red rock structures illuminated by flashes of lightning, but for the acoustic treat of hearing the thunder echoing off the myriad of rock walls that amplify and reverberate the sound. This can be printed in its entirety in sizes of 1:2 aspect ratio (10 x 20, 20 x 40, etc.).
Opening night for Zoo Lights at the Anchorage zoo. For the most part it is more about the lights and not so much about the animals. Pretty much all the animals were asleep in there dens.
