Red Pink Lilies - Santa Gemita - Laowa 65mm - Nov 17 2022 - Enhanced
The view of the city centre and Bath Abbey from Smallcombe vale after sunset. Spectacular colourful illumination of the city center over Christmas holiday that started last year to support local economy and honoured efforts of NHS during pandemic. The project was supported by the Bath Business Improvement District (Bath BID) and designed and produced by Fineline Lighting and Visit Bath. Taken from Widcombe Hill, Bath, England, UK.
The "Tanja" ferry connects the villages of Neu Darchau and Darchau in the Elbe Valley. In the summer of 2018, the water level on the Elbe was so low that ferry operations had to be suspended for a while, but could be resumed after the fairway was excavated and has since run smoothly in the dry summers of 2019 and 2020.
For almost three decades there have been efforts to replace the ferry service here with a bridge, although it would not be necessary for transport policy in this sparsely populated area. In 2008, the construction planning at that time was stopped by the court, but those in favor of the bridge do not give up. However, those in favor of the "Tanja" ferry are also active. One of my attempts at the "Macro Mondays" theme "My Closest"
This is a salt crystal on a mm scale! So you're looking at a magnification of around 6:1.
Shot with a Carl Zeiss "Luminar 16 mm F 2.5" lens on a Canon EOS R5.
.... the sheep are taken down from the higher ground to the lower land at lambing time. An interesting feature of this landscape is that in the middle ground you can still clearly see the outline of what were known as Lazy Beds. In Famine time when the potato crop in lower areas was being destroyed by potato blight people moved higher up - often into areas with little or no soil, and unsuitable for tillage - trying desperately to grow enough potatoes to feed their families. The hope was that their might be no blight on the higher ground. Sadly they were wrong. Their futile efforts at cultivation still mark the landscape in many areas such as this in West Mayo, one of the areas worst hit in famine times (Circa 1847).

Lilies - Santa Gemita -Laowa 65mm - Nov 4 2022 - Enhanced-12
Even if its some effort, I always carry a telephoto lens with me on my hikes. After I successfully catched my primal composition, I'm scouting for interesting details in my surroundings. In this case, I saw this scenery from the other side of the lake. For me it’s showing perfectly the quietness and calmness I felt in this morning.

In the previous post of the male Red-winged Blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus), he was calling to attract a female and it appears his efforts were successful as this female was found perched on a cattail not too far from his location.
The cattail pond was on the prairie landscape near Burstall, Saskatchewan, Canada.

The 1969 Town Lake Gazebo was the first public structure built in the effort to beautify the south shore of Town Lake (now Lady Bird Lake), which was created after the construction of Longhorn Dam on the Colorado River in 1960. The Austin Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), established in the 1950s for women working in the construction industry, spearheaded and raised funds for the project. Thirty-five visionary women in Austin saw the possibility of putting something on the shores for all to enjoy and dedicate it to the construction industry.
Inspired by the then First Lady of the United States Lady Bird Johnson, a national leader in environmental beautification and later the honorary co-chair of the Town Lake Beautification Committee, the Austin chapter began planning and raising money for the structure in 1965. Almost 100 contractors and suppliers enthusiastically supported the gazebo project with donations of materials and labor. The gazebo was dedicated in June 1970, and then in 1984, the structure was named for Fannie Davis, a founding member of the Austin chapter of NAWIC.
The gazebo was designed by architect J. Sterry Nill to resemble an inverted morning glory flower. The design reflects the diverse architectural trends of the 1960s, and playfully references Frank Lloyd Wright's geometric experimentation and combination of organic material with modern forms and the rustic park architecture found in central Texas.

Cleo's Flickr friends know that she always needs a good reason for physical activity and treats ARE a good reason. She found the treats bag in the kitchen, carried it into the garden (probably because she didn't want me to see what she was doing) and used her claws to open the bag. Cleo can indeed be very determined if she has a goal. :)
Last year's grasses and echinacea seed-pods are all I have to look at right now but...
Yes, blue sky, you are more than making up for Spring's late arrival ;)
I appreciate the effort!
This is the fabulous view from the mountain "Schneehüenderstock" (2650m).
We took the cable car up (so no great effort there) and then descended on foot to the Oberalppass.

The valiant effort put forth by Mr. Mason was Herculean but alas the sheer size of BigFoot aka OTIS, was just too much to overcome. The Champion has been fallen and now all the land will be under the rule of the ruthless Gnomes and OTI!!!! So I hope everyone who thought, the Gnomes were sooo cute and Da Foot was devilishly handsome are happy now. The last person holding back the future onslaught is no more..... like Batman getting his back broken, or Superman dying..... hell even Wolverine being melted into himself... don't ask.... but anyway... SL's Champion is gone.
Hit the Dirge, Boys!
I hike and photograph in Aman Park about once every two weeks. It is a wonderful area for photographers and it is only a few minutes from my home. In an effort to alter my usual routine of two cameras with wide-angle zoom lenses, I connected my 90 mm macro lens to one of them and focused on little things. I was surprised at the number of opportunities I found for some quality macro images.
First of all before starting this post, I wanted to say thank you to everyone who follows me today we are at 2K. Thank you for appreciating my work and my efforts to make you beautiful photos on each post. Thank you all ♥♥

These birds will pretend to be hurt in efforts to distract you from their nest. This Killdeer acted like it had broken wings and wanted me to come after it. I left it alone but gave it high marks for high drama in an outdoor setting.

''The station is an open-vault metro station, the largest without any support pillars on the network. To facilitate construction, impressive efforts had to be done: the soil was frozen for 90 days, and the technology used to make it was also one of the few technologies imported from other countries to construct the metro.
The works lasted 4 years, in December 1981 the station was inaugurated.
It should also be added that, since its commissioning, the station has never been renovated or consolidated.''
