OK car lovers it's your day today, I have the day off so it's all about you all day.

This Rolls Royce is in the 20 Ghost Club, it was at a bad angle I had to contort myself to get it all in the frame like I wanted. A little film noir to add to the vintage feel.

Can you imagine driving this beauty down the highway, top down and wind in your hair. (if you have hair lol)

Shoot it's going on my Christmas wish list. :-)))

Thanks for your views, faves and comments! They are so appreciated!

I've said this before, but with a photo like this, it's always present in my mind: the first moment I fell head-over-heels in love with photography was a moment like this one. I stood on the overlook by Lower Lewis River Falls with my little Canon point-and-shoot. I did my first intentional long exposure, looked at the screen, and proceeded to grin like a maniac. There is something about water that inspires this deep feeling of utter contentment in me.

This is from a few weeks ago at Ramona Falls. Truly an amazing wall of water!

It's kind of hard to play with a fast 85mm and not do some bokeh-centric photography. These golden grasses stood out to me, bathed in the light as they were. I had a Tiffen VND on the lens for some flash portraits I was doing prior, and that caused the wonderful light bloom at the top of the frame.

According to the book "The Meaning of Flowers: Myth, Language & Lore" , the orchid stands for ecstasy. Apparently, there are over 25 thousand species of orchid, more than any other flower. This one was a gift from a friend two years ago and it has bloomed twice since the first time I got it. I love the pure simple colour of it. We are fortunate to have wild orchids growing along the Bruce Trail in our area. They will be blooming in June!

Amtrak's Southwest Chief is about to knock down the classic semaphores at Chapelle, now gone I believe.

Nothing says romance to me like NYC on a rainy night.

I've gotten an early start on something new I'll be doing in 2010 -- little previews of each engagement shoot on my Facebook page. You can see more there, and always see big versions of my favorites on the blog.

May I present to you, the epitome of aesthetics, sound, speed and legacy.

Very special moment for me, two 599 GTO's on the road side by side. This was a hard moment to capture, and I did my best which I'm proud of :)

Let me know what you think of the shot and editing, it's greatly appreciated and thoroughly encouraged.

Marian and the rest of the cast from Ecstasy, a play by Mike Leigh, and directed by Scott Elliot of the New Group. This was performed in New York over 12 years ago. It was quite a hit, had an extended run off-Broadway and the cast won an Obie for their ensemble efforts.

Marian played Dawn on the left and by the looks of things is staying in character for the shot :-) She's actually six month pregnant with Liam at this point. Beside her is Patrick Fitzgerald, Neil Jones and Cara Seymour. This is the second run of the play, Jared Harris played the role Neil played for the first six months or so.

I decided to do a new series with foreign words (Latin, French and old Greek) as a topic. Each content of the pictures should at least give the impression to match the foreign word. It's quite a challenge, but it always helps me in difficult times.

Ecstasy (ancient Greek ἔκστασις ékstasis "getting out of hand", "step out of oneself"

These two were too funny. The little girl was wicked rambunctious and she would run up and down the beach, screaming and giggling. The mother was getting exasperated, I think, because right after I took this the girl got whisked off her feet and they didn't come back.

On an unrelated note, this is why I love the nifty fifty. If this has been the 18-55, the sun's glare would have been all over them, plus they would have been out of focus. Good lens on the cheap :-)
