Racoon Bandit ended night 3 for me, and what a fantastic end it was!

First time seeing The Grass and they win for having the craziest stage presence of my weekend. Phew.
Caught Mark mid-laugh. Fantastic.
This was my second time seeing Gordie & his Rhythm Boys and I swear to god I don't know how they did it, but this show was even better than the previous! (The previous getting a standing ovation, BTW!)

Say Fire and Sea Caves opened up for the Diamond Minds tonight down at Headquarters, it was a good show. The Diamond Minds are gone on the road for a few months now and doing some showcasing for the ECMAs. This was their last St. John's show until August, so I felt I should go.
Though I felt wrong going down there tonight since it entailed me missing the 3rd period (and resulting overtime period) of the habs game. I don't think I missed a habs game this season besides the end of this one. The habs lost in overtime against the Ottawa Senators, but it doesn't really matter since the habs are already guaranteed a playoff spot.
As usual the habs fans were louder than the Senators fans in Ottawa, Mike Cammalleri tied the game with 10 seconds left in the 3rd period and the stadium erupted with cheers even though it was not technically a home game for the habs in Ottawa. The superstitious part of me wonders if the outcome of the game would have been different if I had stayed home to watch it.
Tom Fun Orchestra played the after party after the awards gala. it's been awhile since i've been able to catch them. i think this is the first time since carmen joined.

the last day of ECMA weekend.
we crawled out of our motel room, ate delicious breakfast, then headed to the crown & moose for a drink & the first show of the day. i believe we were waiting for jordan cameron.
in martin's hand is probably be most delicious iced tea i've ever tasted.
yes, we passed on the alcohol (for once) and drank sensibly.

we had to duck out of the solid rock cafe before paper lions took the stage, somewhat sadly. it wasn't all for naught, though. we headed to the globe for the songwriters circle, arriving just a couple of songs before al tuck finished. our sadness for missing paper lions quickly dissipated (er, for the most part).
it brought back memories of ecma weekend in sydney. it seemed every band we wanted to see all played at the same time.

Ten Strings and a Goat Skin played at Plan B. Although they're from PEI, I had yet to actually hear any of their music. I'm definitely a fan now!
Must find one of their songs to play on the podcast..
Also, it's almost a guarantee that I'll screw up their name when I say it.

ECMA Award Winner Charlie A'court from Halifax Opens for Dan Akroyd at the Marquee Club in Halifax N.S.
shane & i grabbed a bite to eat at jennifers. i think this is where the cape breton showcase was being held. it was kind of a classy joint. so we did a crossword shane had folded up in his coat pocket.
hey. at least i didn't take my boots off or put my feet up on the chair. (i was, however, in desperate need of a shower)
